This has nothing to do with legions getting extra benefits (like a bigger base or inter legion NPC's) by becoming part of a bigger group (like many of the post our about).

Most legions theses days don't work by them self they belong to a bigger group of legion all working together be it sister legions or basing groups. What if we had a way to see the grander picture of how legions work together and could publicly state hey where friends with so and so.

How alliances would be made: Alliance would be made by a leader of a legion going and pressing "make alliance" in the legions Tab then they would name it and pick a alliance Icon (this Icon would be added to the legion icon in the lower right corner). Once an alliance is made leaders of other legions could request to join an alliance and once approved the legion would get an icon and be added into the list.

Debatable Features:

1. Alliance Chat - Like legion chat only that it lets all members communicate. Maybe this feature could be achieved my making the chat have 2 tabs.




2. Being part of multiple alliances - This would let legions have more than one alliance like "sister alliance" and "basing alliance"

3. Alliance Leader Board - shows which alliance comes out on top

4. Alliance size limit - (title says it all) i personally think since there is no added benefits alliance shouldn't have a limits.

Based on the comments so far:
1. Yes for an Alliance Chat.
2. No answer for being part of multiple alliances.
3. Yes for Alliance Leader Board
4. Alliance Limits 5 (I think 5 to 10 would be best)

kinda seems like a for show thing mostly. but a chat for groups would be nice. and maybe with a leader bord for it it can encorage people to come togather and have a be the best challenge . 5 seems like a good number.

How ever I dont want to see a lot of multi legion projects.

only because I can se the days of DOO comming back

i dont, we have action limits, alerts only last two days and tbh there wont be any massive alliance that will have 600 players organized like crazy to rape the game.

Not to mention in this feature there no way you can interact with alerts that are not in your legion and the alliance feature is just a group of legions.
So if someone shares a planet (player, ect...) in one legion it will not show up in another.

+1 , I like this , I think a limit of 7 is just about right , there should a tab next to " Com ( Whatever the legion chat says ) , saying : Switch chat , in there , there are your alliances , select one and start talking! , To the other legion , your name should appear in red , so they know it's a ally , and in green it should say there legion : For example ; It will appear like this :

Super from Anomaly : *Message* ( E.g. )

I think that a legion should be limited to a max of 2 alliances, a "Basing Alliance" and a "Comrade Alliance"

Basing alliances of course for battle pacts to do base battles and Comrade Alliances for main and training legions.

Comrade Alliances should include a free trade pact (that doesn't count towards % for artifact base shipments) just so it's easier to send KU or artifacts to members of the training legion to fund the base or to help specific members.

I feel strongly that the max number of legions in an alliance should be 5. Yourself and 4 others. And of course, any legion in a specific alliance would automatically be allied with all other legions in the alliance to a max of 5.

Would be nice to be able to "Name" the alliance similar to naming a legion, with the option to edit the name without contacting Dan to account for changes in alliances.

Sorry for the necro but i'm a huge fan of this idea and would love to see something like it implemented.
