A mysterious machine that fuses raw materials into something brand new, although it is unknown what the outputs are.

Two input slots, put different or same artifacts (must be non-gp artifacts, ie: can be retrieved from shipments). Outputs a different artifact of unknown type, not necessarily the same.

Example:
Input: Crimson Obelisk x10 + Crimson Obelisk x10
Output: Containment Missile


Some could be different depending on order, like:
Input: Calming Amplifer x10 + Halcyon Trap x10
Output: Asteroid Holo-Disguise

Input: Halcyon Trap x10 + Calming Amplifier x10
Output: Octafari Disguise



Others could be the same, like:
Input: Spy Probe Weapons x10 + Spy Probe Defenses x10
Output: Spy Probe Resources

Input: Spy Probe Defenses x10 + Spy Probe Weapons x10
Output: Spy Probe Resources


Others could make absolutely nothing at all:
Input: Flux Probe x10 + Engineered Virus x10
Output: Pile of useless scrap (loss of both sets of artifacts)

Add the small possibility of failure, the correct recipe, but machine malfunction creates a pile of scrap instead of the correct output.

This could add a whole new dimension to the game, and could prove useful for those who need artifacts quickly. It also adds a fun method of adding new discoveries and the possibility of failure as well. In the News and Updates section, Dan could mention "Two new discoveries are available in the fusion chamber. Good luck!" indicating that there are new artifacts available for fusion that must be found.

I'm well aware we have a CT Lab, but because of the possibility of failure, and the other possibility that this could be used VERY often for common exchange, I believe it differs enough from the CT Lab to be useful and worth implementing.

im with you on this one and it will improve game-play allot and get
people talking just a little bit when trading discovery's

but maybe a option to tell you of your
discovery's and what gets you what

That aside...

The arts you get out are useless. Maybe if they were new or had some purpose for a mission, spawns a new NPC, new temp buff, or something interesting.

Another use for calming amps? are you fricking kidding me?!! how are you not running low between isolation bureaus and concords?

Input: 50 flux probes + 5 temp flux
Ourput: New Flux?

Input: 10 temp fluxes + 1 Planet Flux
Output: Warping Flux?

Warping flux, a flux that fluxes the planet every month, but no cloak is allowed on the planet?

maybe not invincible but it gains a lot of passive attack, defense, and cloak.

I wish you people would stop taking the examples so literally. They are not an actual reflection on the designs that I would expect from the fusion chamber, merely examples to help you understand the point. Disregard any of the above fusions as set in stone and focus on the idea of the chamber itself.

As far as the other ideas, the idea is that only Dan would know the recipes that are released. He is supposed to surprise us and we discover what they are through trial and error.

+1 Here are some suggestions

You could make a timer on researching like 2 hours to complete
Maybe make a rarer tier while researching adding more or the same artifacts increases the chance of getting them
Use Galaxy Points to buy blue prints or speed up progress
Unique artifacts only available in the Fusion Chamber
Maybe use special Minerals as well

NO. 2 reality transfusers and a planet becomes invincable? Theres a reason why we only get 1 projector and it takes 2 years to get. Lots of people spend big bucks on the game allready and this would make all their nice planets unstealable.

I did focus on the idea, I asked why. It is useless and the examples you suggested (even if they are just examples) sucked so I commented on them.

I see no point in this at all it adds nothing new to the game and is not needed.
