Make a new stryll elite that drops an artifact that increases scan by 2.

And a zolazin elite that drops an artifact that increases cloak by 10.

The bonus is to be determined (+1, +2 +10... etc..) but the general principle seems worthwhile for those NPC-hunting players..

Yeah the +3% scan module is ok, but there is nothing suggested in that thread about cloak increase which is where my idea comes in. Plus my idea for increasing scan can be used as well.

(A) We just got a new Stryll Boss that drops a scan mod.
(B) We already have too much scan already. Cloak is falling behind again.

Darth, you have made quite a reputation for yourself for killing new ideas. Heck, when I saw that you had made the latest post on this thread, I thought "Oh great.... Another one bites the dust."

if both elites suggested come out and drop at same rate, this would fix that...

the problem I have with this is indefinite scan growth.... good bye super cloaking cause some super NPC legion is gonna pull 20 a day every day. And if they wanted, they can make sure 2 or 3(depend on #of spot) specific designated person gets all of them. you know what that means right?

Not sure how having both would fix anything really. Unless you're an habitual hacker, ship cloak doesn't really mean anything. Other than that, you're right, the additions to scan are creating an ugly situation. It won't be long until you need to devote 50% or better of a planet's space just to cloak beyond scanability. Toss in the apparent glitch that's purportedly allowing scan<cloak to succeed in finding planets and it makes the problem even worse.

No, I've made a reputation for killing BAD ideas. There's a difference. If an idea adds substance to the game (you know, stuff to DO), adds balance to the game, or makes an improvement on the user interface, I'll be among the first to +1 that idea. Sorry, but if I can look at a suggestion and see the flaws in it, there's no reason why everyone can't do the same. If more people did that BEFORE posting suggestions, I wouldn't be playing Devil's Advocate so often.

Like darth said we already have way too much scan. Cloak is really only good for defending against hacks and even then it just takes a few artifacts to drop your cloak to 0. And if this NPC appears forever you could easily auto rank off of NPCs and aquire an enormous sum of scan. Enough to were you can scan any planet.

So -1

I already hate having the max scan more than double the amount of the max cloak. Dan should even those numbers out somehow.
