I don't feel like the combat log for non-elite npcs is a valuable addition to the game.

First, it is off by 1 count - that is the first hit isn't recorded until you hit attack a 2nd time, and the 2nd not until you hit it a 3rd time and so on. The last hit is not recorded.

Second, I don't find the information useful in the least.
For example:

Code:
Less than a minute ago
. . .  deals 961 damage to Crimson Flamehawk XII
Crimson Flamehawk XII deals 23 damage to  . . .
Less than a minute ago
. . .  deals 930 damage to Crimson Flamehawk XII
Crimson Flamehawk XII deals 33 damage to  . . .
Less than a minute ago
. . .  deals 987 damage to Crimson Flamehawk XII
Crimson Flamehawk XII deals 42 damage to  . . .
Less than a minute ago
. . .  deals - damage to Crimson Flamehawk XII
Crimson Flamehawk XII deals 22 damage to  . . .
Less than a minute ago
. . .  deals 959 damage to Crimson Flamehawk XII
Crimson Flamehawk XII deals 29 damage to  . . .
Less than a minute ago
. . .  deals 980 damage to Crimson Flamehawk XII
Crimson Flamehawk XII deals 24 damage to  . . .

How does this benefit me? Perhaps if I was really interested I could write down what my average attack is against the Flamehawk, but then all I really need to know is I can kill it in 7 hits.

I don't feel it's worth whatever server time it is given to print the information on the tab. I think the tab should be removed completely on these non-elite npcs.

The reason it is there is so that you DON'T have to write it down for any calculations. It provides insight into the general effectiveness of your ship in combat vs NPCs. Knowing that x attack and y defense will yield z damage ratio against that particular type of NPC is actually valuable information. Especially for low rank players. It lets you know where your ship needs work.

Agree, could do a little clean up, same goes for status (in percentage) of the non-elite npc.

Why does this bother you? It's only temporary memory, as Dan does not keep track of this data permanently. It's kept track of until you defeat it, in which it is deleted. In addition, small bits of text require the least amount of memory (next to numbers, perhaps) on a server. Thus, I don't see what the point is of having it removed.

I'm sure it's removed when the NPC dies, it's only common sense to do so. If you ask the higher ranks, they'll tell you that the game lacks content. The last thing Dan needs to do right now is remove it.
