How about a new special artifact:
"Advanced Collection Methods": Doubles the CTP output received from any Rogue Collector for 1 hour.
What are your thoughts?

+1, they don't provide much CTP to begin with (1-2, most have 1) so I don't see what harm could come in this. Curious to see what the source of this artifact is, a repeatable mission? Specific vs 1 rare NPC that has the plans?

Maybe a chain ending with a players choice of drop altering ability that works on more than just Tech Collectors, Flamehawks drop Foci's, traffickers drop a NPC def debuff, for X amount of time every 24-ish hours. But you only get one choice that remains permanent and only affects the common NPC's

+1 if changes were made to the tech collector.
I would have some interest in this idea if the awards for a Rogue Tech Collector were higher. With a reward of 1-2 (usually 1) and only 20 XP, I actively steer away from these ships and allow them to time out. Rogue data analyzers offer 200 rp, 50 XP and an Rsl anti cryptex.
Tech collectors aren't worth the energy output for the XP return.
Make the award for the tech collector similar to te data analyzer (maybe 3-4 ctp and 50 xp) and the suggestion would be more useful.

-1 to your misunderstanding of Tech Collectors. They can easily be taken in 3 shots, yielding around 50 xp or 3.33 xp/energy. If you kill it in max shots (2) you get an xp ratio of 4xp/energy. The CTP is just an extra bonus.

Hi Chloron,
Sorry, but I can't take one in two or three shots yet, so the energy output for me isn't worth it. There are plenty of npcs out there that give me a higher return, so I disable them.
So, its not a misunderstanding of the tech collector, just a good understanding of the best way to invest energy for me.

I currently 1 hit dark runners and chargers, and 2 hit tech collectors, @ rank 1040 +1 to original idea, might be a good incentive to get people to NPC more.
