i think i good way to make chating easier is by

haveing different tabs near the legion comm so you can select if you want to talk to members of officers or the new legion anoucements

or maybe some sort of wisper where you can wisper to other players in you legion but i dont really see the piont in this

If you are an officer or leader there is the Officer chat. It can be reached on the tab on the Comm Archive or by typing /o before your message. Works pretty well as-is i think.

why would you whisper when you can talk? are you afraid someone might hear you? lol. i dont see anything wrong with the chat system yet, except for diplomacy options. but i would much rather see legion bases take priority over that.

Chatting definitely needs a revamp .. it's good to have the basic function there but invert it (so newest is at the bottom and the bar for typing stuff in is at the bottom) and make it larger ... or even have it's own tab altogether. Even making it so IRC is used, using for example... mibbit... would work well i think.
