OK this is just a "concept" idea. I have not worked out all the details. I want to first see if anyone would be interested in the concept before I spent too much time thinking of details.
A new Race - Race X (for lack of better name)
Race X is a race beings that want nothing more but to eliminate the other races and claiming the galaxy as their own. Once thought to be only legend to explain the unsolved disappearances of an ever increasing number of MIA starships, their captains and crews. Racial authorities have begun to see some merit in the legends of race X. Some captains have claimed to have narrowly escaped attacks from race X.They all claim that they had come under heavy attack by an unknown source. Once their shields were down they claim that they had an overwhelming feeling of confusion, blurred vision and extreme headaches. Some claim that they could hear voices in their heads as if were trying to control their minds. Race X uses highly advanced cloaking technology to ambush unsuspecting ships and use some sort of mind control technique to brainwash the minds of captains and their crews to enslave them.Once enslaved they willingly fight on behalf of Race X against the other races.
A new Mission Chain - (again its incomplete and no details have been worked out)
1st mission - you have been assigned to help your racial government analyze ship logs from ships that claimed to have escaped Race X to try and find a way of detecting race X ships.
4 completions - each completion rewards 1 X detector which add scan and cloak..with all 4 X detectors installed on your ship you can find the unique NPC X Drones.
The rest of the missions in this chain can only be unlocked by successfully hacking an X Drone.
New (unique) NPC
X Drones - X drones are the starships that have been taken and enslaved by Race X.They have been put into a legion of 50 X drones, 2 X Race Officers and 1 X race Leader.
X drones are a unique NPC because they are meant to act like us, the players. Because X drones are racial ships like ours, they appear in the PvP portion of the BT instead of the NPC portion of the BT. X drones are also unique because fighting them is more like fighting other players. Like players and unlike normal NPC, you cannot see an X drones hull and shields and can only see their ship depending on your scan vs their cloak. Also if you leave the screen before they are disabled, they will "bump" like normal players in BT. (X drones always have an action counter of 1/1/1)
X drones have access to all PvP artifacts as the players.(NPC artis like drannik sabs, dark void ACFs, ect can not be used on X drones). Each time you attack an X drone there is a chance that X drones will randomly use an artifact on either you or themselves.(Note all artis that are stackable for us are stackable for them)
Artifacts X Drones use on themselves:
high chance - containment cages, grid console, ancient crystal foci, crimson obilisks, Nanite swarm capsules, shield amplifiers.
Low chance - shield restorers, repair nanodrones.
Artifacts X drones Use on You
high chance - containment missiles, emp sheres, disarming bombs, omicron mine traps.
Low chance - krionus virus traps, thetacon mine traps.
Once X drones are disabled, they can be raided. Successfully raiding an X drone has chance to open an X Race NPC that will appear on top, NPC portion of BT. Raiding and X drone will result in AP/MP or X race officer #1 which is a 1 man X Race NPC. A critical raid on an X Drone will result in an X Race officer #2 which is a 10 man NPC.
You can also hack X drones (with or without disabling ofc)
When you successfully hack an X drone, you have chance to get RP or the next mission in the mission chain.If you critically hack an X drone you will unlock a legion mission.(or extra 1 man mission)
New NPC - Race X
as stated above the only way to find X race NPC is to successfully raid an X drone.
X Race officer #1 - a 1 man NPC whos location is revealed only through raiding a disabled X Drone. I think the reward should be some sort of consumable pvp artifact.
X Race Officer #2 - a 10 man NPC rewards unknown
X Race Leader - a 15 man NPC who can only be found by critically raiding an X Drone while in the final tier of the mission chain.reward unknown
Again keep in mind I am only presenting the concept of the idea and I have not given any details such as the stats on NPC, missions or rewards given.If the concept is liked then I will think of details..with the help of you fine folks
If the concept does not go over well then I wont think about it anymore lol.
