Post subject:  A new version of the Aegis Shield artifact.
Alot of people probably use this thing before they realize just how valuable it actually is. Those that don't sit on it for ages because they're afraid of using it at the wrong time. Instead of a regular artifact, make the Aegis Shield an ability that you can use, but it has a one month cooldown. This retains it's status as something you only use sparingly.

i would much prefer this to the artifact. i still have mine and i will probably wont use it until i find a dyson and have a planet flux.

It's a 5,000 point defense shield that lasts for a week.

I'm rank 534 and still have mine. But at my rank it become losses a lot of its value simply because the players I tangle with have the attack to still take a world with one on. I know I have taken a world that had a shield one and I know a few others in my legion that has as well. Now you get more just by guarding your world. If I have it so they can't use the warp gate on me to get me off the world my defense alone fully buffed is 10K I know that it wouldn't help me if they disabled me and got me off but not many players can do that alone and many players don't want to attack me do to my rank and in game rep.

However I also agree that I would like this idea.

Well it used to be that the shield made the planet immune to all attacks. That was very very useful.

Newer players can't even keep their aegis, it's auto-used on start.

that only works on artifacts. if it worked on attackes then i would constantly use them until i could flux the planet with the temporal; flux orb.
