Just had this idea while looking at the Mylarai mission where you have to take out Asteroids. What if Asteroids, Comets, and Space Debris showed up in your NPE slots, and had to be disabled or they would crash into your planets or your ship? My idea, in more detail: Comets: Planetary Event: Scaled Hull and Defense, no shield and no attack, Shows up in NPE slots, chance for massive damage upon disable (caused by fractured pieces of rock) If NOT DISABLED within time limit (two days or so) It destroys up to five regular modules on your planet. If DISABLED drops an artifact, increase your artifact production by 25 points an hour. Asteroids: Like a regular NPE Small: 500 defense, 1000 hull Ranks 50-150, Medium: 1500 defense, 2000 hull Ranks 150-250 Large: 2500 defense, 3000 hull Ranks 250+ Chance to do equal damage to the attacking ship All drop a permanent 25 points per hour mining increase Space Debris: Like a regular NPE Scaled hull, defense, and attack Also has an effect, similar to that of other NPE's, that suggests what ship the debris was once part of. Drops random artifact, excluding mission exclusives and Artifact Market artifacts, but not excluding rare NPE drops *Chance to receive damaged artifacts that "Fail" when used, breaking into CTP *only the case for Arti's that can be scrapped for CTP Thoughts? |

Drops random artifact, excluding mission exclusives and Artifact Market artifacts, but not excluding rare NPE drops There's a slight bump.. troop carriers drop QSE and Terraformers, which are both GP items. +1 IF it only destroys regular mods. |

Yeah only regular building would be destroyed but also you do have most artifacts available for purchase, just no Artifact Market Exclusive artifacts. |

I think the dropped artifacts that increase production could be called a Asteroid Coordinates: Constructs a mining base on a nearby asteroid, increasing your mining output by 5 Comet Coordinates: Constructs a extraction base on a nearby comet, increasing your artifact output by 5 The output would change depending on how likely it is to see one of the Comets or Asteroids. I do hope this can be added soon because it's only adding a new type of NPE, and a two new artifacts. Dan is busy on Legion Missions though... but still, I think it would be a quick add. The space debris is a lot more complicated, but it would be quite exciting to see one come up in your NPE slots, no knowing what it would drop. |

I really like this idea. also new players see weird looking ships why don't we see the ship designs, maybe a variation at higher levels? I was helping a friend start and i was like oh yeah that ship...we never see it again....honestly who remembers them? get more mileage out of them! =D |

I like the events and would love to see more. Just a bit sad over the fact that the higher rank you are the less npc spawns you get. |

A bit of a bump and an addition: Due to recent calculations of mine, an increase of nearer to 5 or perhaps even 1 production would be more realistic. If these were regular NPE's then an increase of 25 would be too high. Also, this could be a part of high rank content, make Comets and Space Debris only appear for rank 500+ or higher, perhaps with increasingly good drops. TO SOLVE THE NO TROOP CARRIER PROBLEM make the space debris have a small chance of dropping Terraformers and Quasi's for rank 2200's, or just make the space debris rare like troop carriers (or perhaps uncommon) |

Reminds me of that esurance commercial where the borg ship crashes into the ST ship and the captain ask how did they hit them when they could've just went around. yea. "Sir, that asteroid is about to hit us!" "Noooo! We are advanced enough to build ships that fly into space but we cannot dodge a rock in space coming straight at us!!!" Unless it's like NASA with an alien race capturing space rocks and flinging them at random passerby ships. As for hitting a planet. Let's just take the planet and push it somewhere else! The Hyper-Dimensional Anchor does this by "fading a planet into the darkness of space" so it either moves or darkness encloses it. |

Yeah perhaps you can move the planet for some energy and not have to hit the asteroid. Also the artifacts that increase mining and artifact production could be temporary, for a week or so, until the asteroid/comet has no more valuable stuff on it. Or they must remain on your battle tab occupying NPE slots until you "get rid of them" for some energy, but while they are there you can spend some credits to build a base on them, like a planet but with one space and only one type of structure. |
