Greetings all
It is fairly obvious that race and profession are becoming much more important than ever before, requiring a possible change as much as every three days with legion missions.
While I realise that race changes are probably one of the greatest GP spending tools GL has, It is reaching the point that it is impossible for a legion to meet all requirements without spending an excessive amount of GP, and this is putting many people off even trying.
I propose that there is an extremly rare npc, roughly equivilent to that of an RSL implant, that drops an artifact that is single use, allows a profession change (NOT a race change, thus making race selection still damned important, and keeping a high GP expenditure) and can be used a maximum of 1/day. (EDIT: Suggest cooldown of three days instead of one, to keep in line with legion missions and prevent base defending abuse)
The other choice is the 10GP profession change that was suggested earlier, but to be honest I feel both are needed.
If there is any interest in this I can easily mod up some statisitcs for the npc. It would be fun to have one related to the newly released races and missions -
Galakis retraining contracts for example?

I just feel there needs to be an avenue to keep up with this game requirement of many profession changes that does not cost money. It can be rare as hell, it can be hard to find, but it should exist.

I would be ok with these even though it means bases are at risk of being better defended.

Perhaps its best to change it so it works at most once every three days to keep in line with legion missions? That also greatly increases the chance that a random joe is on cooldown if the base gets locked and they want to do an emergency change they have to still use GP.

I actually like the profession requirements for missions. However, i do feel that the missions that require a certain profession should be more bonus than requirement.
2-3 should be all the ships needed to ensure a completion on them, and having more so should drastically raise the overall chance of the mission succeding.

Why not have an ability as a new mission reward. One for the races so that you can get to the professions that are not on every race. One for professions so that you can change to professions. Have the mission be hard enough that it requires people to be a high level.
Ability: Cross Training Cost: 300 Energy Changes your profession to a profession of your choice. Cool Down: 3 Days minus a few hours (We don't want it to be too easy to change, this would allow GP to still be used, but allow people to still change races easy enough if they didn't have GP to use.) Scraps for 40-60 ctp (since this is coming from a legion mission it needs to scrap for a decent amount)
Ability: Genetic Engineering Costs: 1000 Energy (maybe raise the cost, we want this to hurt enough it don't get abused to quickly) Changes your race to a race of your choice Cool Down: 5 days minus a few hours (to prevent people from changing it too many times) Scraps for 40-60 ctp (since this is coming from a legion mission it needs to scrap for a decent amount)
