Why shouldn't you get one? Description says you counter-hack. Would be a nice reward for winning the fight, subject to the same rules as a regular hack badge.

You get research and sometimes a planet when you get a counter-hack. Plus how would this work with Badge rules in regards to the 12 hour rule? What would it mean in terms of people getting critical fail raids, free yellows for you and a dead crew member for the other guy?
Also like the old (and now time consuming) football planets this could easily be exploited between a few people in different legions, or just a normal multi.

Plus how would this work with Badge rules in regards to the 12 hour rule? As I stated, it runs with the same hack badge rules, including the 12 hour timer. What would it mean in terms of people getting critical fail raids, free yellows for you and a dead crew member for the other guy?Nothing. This is specifically for counter hacking, not critical fails.
Also like the old (and now time consuming) football planets this could easily be exploited between a few people in different legions, or just a normal multi. It's difficult to score a random counter-hack, and 12 hour time limits make it fairly inefficient to multi exploit.

-1 Only because someone will have a hit put on them just so they can get free blue badges without the use of any energy. Easily exploitable.

I understand it didn't cost me any energy, but I successfully countered you so well I hacked YOU. I should be rewarded for my efforts. As most counters net no research and stealing planet locations are very rare, a simple badge is not an overpowered reward.
