AGUTE: A Galactic Update to Everything

This is Part 2 of a series of updates I'm am writing in hopes of incorporating many different part of galaxy which adds both content, fun and creativity into all. Some of the ideas in these will be inter-related to other sections of these.

At the bottom of the UST there is this note:
Quote:
Different services become available each day, during special holidays, and alongside events.

While we've seen parts 1 and 2 of this, we've never seen part 3 of this. There have been no special USTs alongside events. To my knowledge, there has only ever been one Galactic Event. Lets see more of them with a UST response. UST Response would require a one time small amount, say XM related to duration of galactic event, of legion research (IE, anyone in the legion could donate research) to be able to use the UST item. Once the UST response has been opened, normal UST CT cost would appear and usage allowed by everyone in the legion and would be available anytime the specific galactic event appeared. Think of it as coop research on the UST page, like an event related single research tree-node.

Here are some ideas:
Galactic Event: Galactic Storm: Everything in the game loses % defense (bases, ships, planets, npcs) but % cloak is boosted.
UST Response: Storm Capacitor: Shield recharge rate increased and 1/2 of storm related defense debuff reduced. (So if Dan said the Galactic Storm debuffed everything by 10%, using this would allow you to reduce the debuff to 5%) , additionally, once the response was available, bases would get a 1% shield recharge rate increase for the duration of the storm as well as a 1 AP base ability to reduce the debuffed defense by 1/2.

Galactic Event: Drannik Swarming: increase in Drannik enemies you see on your battle tab, huge amount, like 50% of all NPCs; additionally, removes all level caps on non-common Drannik NPCs. (Note, I realize there are no 1000+ drannik ships. There would need to be some.)
UST Response: Directed EMP Blast: 10% damage increase to Drannik NPCs and cyborg players in PvP.
UST Response: Cyber-Control: Capture a maximum of 10 common Drannik NPCs that can be used as targeted base missiles in a base battle. Each Drannik does between 500% and 750% of damage cap, max 5 uses per legion. Additionally, adds a passive point defense to a base reducing the damage of incoming base missiles by 50% (so 250-375%).

Galactic Event: Mylarai vs Alarri trade war: Battling races have cornered the market on Dysillon and Dieterion. It can not be bought during the event and overall mineral production (planetary or base) is reduced by 10%.
UST Response: A Dark Response: Hire the Dark Runners to deal with those traders who don't want to be part of the trade war. Mining reduction reduced to 5%, Dark Tariff timer reduced to 6 hours. Passive base ability: doubles Miners Coalition buff.

Galactic events can be major, they can be minor, long (month), short (3 days). Adding new things changes how we do things and why they do them. There are a 101 things in this game that can be pluses and minuses. Invasion timer shorten but second chance has reduced chance. Hull bonus, attack down; and so on.

This is really impressive. Could these events boil down to specific legions too?

For example, maybe the Lazuli Syndicate found themselves at EotS's base, so EotS would get a UST buff unlocked (to do with hull, obviously), and their base would get a passive hull buff.

Then the Rogue Science League decided to declare war on Ghosts, so all Ghosts members would get a UST buff (something good that should be worth the following negative point), but their research would be reduced due to theft by the RSL (the negative).

As for the Cyber-Control, what do you mean when you say a passive point defense? Is it the using legion's base?

I don't see why not. I was thinking that regional events could effect bases, like a local storm might only effect a base and the people attacking it.

Yes, the legion that opens the research would have a passive point defense that would be used to partially protect itself from the user controlled drannik ships.

Someone sent me a general idea for one. I fleshed it out slightly.

Galactic Event: Galactic Plague: Each planet has a % chance to be affected each day with a plague that lasts X days. Plague infected planets loose x% production as well as reducing population growth/regeneration rate. Plague ship status transfers increases chances of plague on a planet if you defend it. Additionally, base is automatically afflicted with plague. Plagued Base: 3% reduction of base attack and defense as well as 10% AP loss.

UST Response: Planetary Medicine Dispersal: Ship inoculation: Removes plague ship status. Also allows you to guard a planet for 5 minutes and wipe the plague from the planet. Additionally, reduced chance of plague happening and duration if it when it does happen. Finally guarding planets for 5 minutes (whether plague or not) gives them plague immunity so they can't get the plague. Base passive, Healthy Crew: removes Plagued Base status and gives 10% AP bonus as well as 3% bonus to attack and defense.
