 Repair Bay and Shield Charging Station Improvement

Repair Bay:
After 500 uses it changes into an Improved Repair Bay, the cool down between repairs is reduced to 20 minutes, when you repair yourself with it you also gain a temporary effect called Reinforced Repair.

Reinforced Repair: Improves your ship's hull integrity by 20% and defense by 5%, lasts 5 hours. Removable by artifacts.

Shield Charging Station:
After 500 uses it changes into an Improved Shield Charging Station, the cool down between charges is reduced to 20 minutes, when you charge your shields with it you also gain a temporary effect called Shield Overcharge.

Still not good enough to actually put on a high level base compared to anything else... but it's a great idea and a fantastic step in the right direction. The shield bonus may actually be too high however, as presumably it stacks with normal shield amplifiers. I would also suggest lowering the durations down from 5 hours to something more managable - though keep them able to be removed by others.

Another linked possibility is that the improved bays improve the base they are on. Shield bay speeds shield regeneration by x seconds, repair bays lower the timer on a paid repair. It does make sense that having entire sections of your base devoted to repair and regeneration should have an effect on it after all.

i like making them more useful. I would make the shield amp lower though too maybe only 100%, so with shield amp arti will be 200% total.
I would also lower the buff from 5 hours to 2 hours as with most other buffs that are not on timers.

Well, from what I'm seeing the improved shield charging station is arguably overpowered and the timers are too long. Fair enough, I can see where you guys are coming from.

I was sort of looking at my rank range (high 200) and lower where most players don't have very much shielding to begin with and those that do seem to be easy disables so I made it a little high without realizing it would be too high for the high rankers that often have the max number of shield modules.


So how about the Reinforced Repair is reduced to 2 hours; the improved repair bay itself counts as an additional fixer and reduces the base's payed repair time by 1 hour (if I remember correctly the repair cool down is 4 hours so the new cool down would be 3).

And the Shield Overcharge's effect be reduced down to 100% plus an additional 200 shields (better for the lowbies), lasts 2 hours down from 5.
The Improved station itself counts as an additional Physicist and reduces the base's shield charging time by 25%.

If these versions prove better balanced I'll edit them into the OP.

I don't know that is is sad. Some of us find medals fun and ones that give you something useful are that much better.
