I know this may be too insane, dont want it myself, but since we have a critical fail chance in many other activities, imagine a critical colonize or invade fail. "Critical fail, the planet you tried to colonize or invade, blew up, boom!" it dissapears.

There is already a critical invade fail, you use a member of your crew.

THIS IDEA IS BRILLIANT! YES, PLANETS IN THE UNIVERSE ALWAYS EXPLODE! And while we add this, why not put in a little aesthetic: You know, like a gif of a planet exploding or something.

never heard of colonize fail... but if there ever was one, this could be considered.
And the problem with crit invade fail is that if you FAILED, then the planet is NOT yours. The crit fail should ONLY punish the invader and NOT the invaded, to whom the planet still belongs.
