I don't see this as very effective in saving time or effort. Unless you want the RNG to decide which planets get purged, and I think we can all agree how bed THAT would be, you would still have to manually differentiate between purge and keep planets.
In addition, we must be cautious with any mass anything buttons. As long as we're online, even just doing tedious tasks like purging planets, we're ACTIVE and might take part in other activities.
I knew u say that...
Like i said as long as u have flagged ur planets that u want to keep the rest can be mass purged.. whats wrong with that..
Well isn't that
manually differentiating? Whether you spend the time doing it 3 days before you purge or do it right before you purge, you're still doing it (spending time and effort). And unless you have enough purgers to do the whole lot at once (which isn't your suggestion anyway) how does the system know where to start? By Name? By Type? By Size? By Resource? Random?
I tend to purge my planets daily so the task doesn't build up very much. But I have been known to save purgers for a few days and do one big purge. I can do 200 planets per minute easily with the quick box. I honestly don't see any way (or reason for that matter) to reduce the purge time any further.
Also, think about this. When you purge a planet now, you send a command to the server to do one little thing. With a mass-purge button, you'd be sending a command to do one big thing (or a LOT of little things, however you want to look at it) which will inevitably throw you into limbo while your action is processed. I thought we all hated lag? Nope, let's add some more.
