How may I contact Dan the "Creator" of this game? My friends and I plan to form our own Legion called The Galaxy Musketeers and I would like to create and submit our own Legion Avatar. Is this possible? I need only the size required Ex: 60 X 60 pixels - and format. Ex: .gif .jpeg .png
And I would like to thank Dan personally for sharing his knowledge and creating Galaxy Legion.

It is not currently possible in the app. However, if you have a suggestion for a universal symbol/figure that we can design/find/use, let us know and we'll consider adding it. There are already a huge number to choose from. Thanks.

What's wrong with allowing Legion Leaders to upload their own?

Nothing technically wrong - but we would have to enforce typical policies that come with user-submitted content, including copyright, takedowns, etc. Also, the logos all follow a similar styling that we'd like to keep consistent. Again, just give us some insight about what you might be looking for and we can go from there.

It's still a great idea. By that same logic, we should disallow images to be posted on the forum. In fact, we should disallow any posts at all, right? I mean, what if someone posts something here? Are we OK with user-submitted content or not?

Without the horse/goat thing it kinda resembles the swirly logo that's already in the game.

Any pictures on the forum you don't really have the copyright issue as you are posting links and the files themselves are hosted elsewhere.
and yes while some copy rights don't allow viewing anything you've found in the public domain wont be subject to such laws.

If you did this for the game Dan would have to host the images on his servers meaning he'd be subject to all copyright laws.

While I think this is a nice idea in theory the amount of work it would create for Dan vs the benefit to the game just doesn't work out.

It's not something he can even do and just leave it would need constant monitoring and every images would have to go through a vetting process before it could be uploaded to the game servers.


maybe as a compromise Dan took user submitted legion logo's for the Top 50 as a perk of being on the leader board and any legion that makes it onto the top 50 would be eligible, really just spit balling but it would get some custom logo's out there without opening the flood gates.

What in the Derp? Game page can display linked images just as easily as the forum can if that's the problem. And how is THAT the distinction? So-called inappropriate or copyrighted images can be served anywhere - they would be still be inappropriate and/or copyrighted.

If these arguments are valid, then we wouldn't be able to pick ship, planet, legion, and legion base names. What if someone used an "inappropriate" (which is subjective, but OK) or trademark name like "Disney's Castle"? Should that also not be allowed? What if someone posts some hate speech on someone else's comm? We need to preempt that also, right?

Just face it, the "someone might post/upload something bad therefore disallow" argument is not too cogent. Let's turn off most of the Internet if that is a good argument. WIkipedia, Facebook (among countless others), GONE.

Some of us that play the game are mature enough to sport something awesome.
It's the few immature ones that will ruin it for the rest of us.
