This could be released with a bi weekly mission or something...idk. Here were the stats I was thinking.


+6 energy recharge rate
-5% tactical officers while installed
-5% total energy while installed
Limit 1

upkeep 1 billion?

Possible description: A highly unstable experimental energy relay. While installed engineers will enlist additional help from tactical officers. Over time it is known that additional help from tactical officers will be necessary.

this would make the max recharge rate 150/hour.
This would be cost prohibitive for many low rank players but high rank players wouldn't have a problem with the upkeep of it.

In addition, for high rank players where most of their attack is from tactical officers this should serve as catch 22 for them.

So i can gain an additional 30 energy per hour...

and all it will cost me is 3k energy, and 5% of my tac officers....

PASS!!

That is a concern how? ever heard of unequipping?

Anyway, I believe dan have specifically said at some point that recharge isn't going to be any higher so...

Though, for obvious reasons, there is a limit to the amount of speed reduction we can introduce. It's possible that a new conduit/relay will get added, however. (It may be the last)

I'm glad to hear a new relay item isn't out of the question. Obviously it has to be balanced, and while I was just shooting out ideas a new relay item its got to have some drawback to it. Be it a high upkeep, a lower max energy, a lower attack, or something else entirely. It should have some drawback that keeps this relay from being installed a 100% of the time.

As for concerns that we have enough energy recharge, having relay(s) that would reduce the charge by 6 seconds would only increase the recharge rate to 150/hr up from 120. For high ranks thats doesn;t make that much of a difference.

Currently the best researched relays give +27 charge, -120 energy, 45M upkeep.

Perhaps if the research tree was extended, it could offer a better relay at +30 charge (in keeping with the previous relays which are spaced out at +3 intervals), -240 energy, 400M upkeep - something like that? Four relays would then have an upkeep of 1.6B, which would put some people off buying them... it could easily force some players to be builders just to offset the cost.

However, as things are, I have no issues with a 120/hr max (I'm currently at 95/hr, but working at that last relay).

I don't think he was hinting at a new researchable tier but maybe a mission reward. Since the trend seems to ship allies,, I wouldn't be surprised to see it as a level 100 unlockable ability... but hey this is just speculation

Either that or maybe a legion mission item that you upgrade and then when its fully upgraded it increases the rate.

My proposed idea is not decreasing the timer, but rather grants extra 1 energy per charge.

Like :
4 relays with activable ability : each with 24 hours cooldown, grants extra 1 energy charge for 6 hours, cannot be stacked.

This way, people can get more energy when they online :)

From what I've seen with the updates dan has put together, this seems highly unlikely. He wouldn't do anything to add new content just retroactively add something without making players work for it.
