i was thinking why not a way to steal energy from enemies. you would probably need a special module or do mission. im thinking you would get the option after you disable the person. might add something new to pvping and open new doors to stuff. sort of the middle of the night so cant think off anything else. definitely needs more player out put |

gerrgd wrote: Thanks for the helpful criticism ![]() I thought I didn't need to say this but please provide a response along with your +1 or -1 It should be pretty self-explanatory, but here you go... If someone doesn't have energy, they can't play the game. Why on earth would Dan give one player the ability to keep another player from playing? ![]() |

you could limit the energy taken. make they energy amount a little bonus but not something huge. |

Would be a horrible idea to steal energy from another player. Wouldn't be so bad to get some kind of energy bonus when raiding without taking away from someone else though. Things are fine the way they are now, so why bother changing? What you have to remember is that implementing changes to the game, no matter how small, takes a lot of time, effort, and testing for the game developers. If it is not something that has a tangible benefit to the game itself and the vast majority of players, it not something the developers will even consider. |

gerrgd wrote: you could limit the energy taken. make they energy amount a little bonus but not something huge. How do you determine what is and isn't a "little bonus"... You could steal 25k energy from me and i can give a toss, but if you steal just 5 energy from a rank 50 they'll just quit the game, because it only takes 10 people to do this to you every day... which they will at those ranks, and you cannot play the game. -1 to this idea. |

Yep, bad idea I think. I just don't get why you should be able to steal energy. Surely the artifacts, minerals and research is enough to be going on with? |

This could work if the limit per steal was 1 energy and you could only do it on a player 3 times a day ![]() |

Obviously it should cost something e.g. exotic matter, ctp...etc. Since you're earning more energy than you normally would I think there needs to be a limiting factor on it. Maybe every time you steal energy it requires more and more exotic matter on an exponential scale which resets every 24hrs. I think that it would work well as an unlockable ability, that would take away most of the concern of it being used on low ranks. |

This idea is the equivalent of when you could actually steal artifacts from someone's cargo. I don't mean the points. Lord almighty just imagine the butt hurt. |

with limitations in place its a perfectly valid idea. Now with the attacks we already can do our only limit is energy. This attack would give us energy so it needs another limit. X amount of time per day where X is based on lvl or some other formula. The other limit would be based on the enemy ship. Just like disable and raid it would have a limit and it would scale the more you raid/hack etc I personally dont like the idea, im just playn devils advocate... |

reviewing it i think that just a bonus would be better than stealing from an enemy. maybe 5 energy up to half of what it would take to kill the enemy( the option would only be available after a disable just like raiding) |

gerrgd wrote: reviewing it i think that just a bonus would be better than stealing from an enemy. maybe 5 energy up to half of what it would take to kill the enemy( the option would only be available after a disable just like raiding) The problem with a variable amount of energy like half of the amount to disable someone is that you would concievably extend pvp by 25%. Averaging a minimum of 5 and at most half the energy to disable them, you end up with 25% bonus energy for pvping making it even easier to autorank. Just like with raiding the amount you get scales with rank obtaining energy should occur in the same manner. Energy is critical early game allowing low levels to steal each others energy would discourage new players from playing the game. This energy stealing needs to be scaled drastically for the early game but in addition it can't grow so large that high level players are willing to wage wars over that lost energy. My suggestion for a formula would be someting along the lines of: energy stolen: sqrt(rank) |

Bad idea. If your low on energy I suggest you make some engineers instead of suggestions like this. --myst |
