An idea for your ship....

If Dan doesn't want to bring out another research chain how about he lets ranks 1k+ 8 more guns, 4 more dampeners, 4 more thrusters, 3 more reactors, 4 more relays, 5 more shields, 5 more hulls, 2 more jammers, 2 more cloaks, but probably not anymore scanners as we get a lot of scan from mission and npc modules. It will give our rotting ship bots a use, let's face it we get disabled daily from the higher ranks so damage cap shouldn't be a concern. And then 2k+ another full set of each, it will also give us an even more reason to continue our mineral and research growth to keep up with the upkeep. What do you all think?

One big problem with this is the relays. Another full set would bring the max energy recharge to -78s/energy. Just a "minor" issue

+1, I do like it but 2 problems here
1. if we are looking at max systems with 8 Heavy Quasi-Chaotic Blaster (size 55, Attack +430) 4 Trans-Entropy Drive - Mark III ( size 102, Defense +820) 4 Exergonic Inverter - Mark III (size 94, Defense +626) 5 Heavy Obviator Shield (size 52 Shield +559) 5 Perfect Syncopated Plating (size 43, Hull +1105) 3 Proxy-Universe Reactor - Mark IV (size 50, Energy +540) 2 Inverse Flux Jammer - Mark III (size 56, Cloak +761) 2 Dimensional Mask - Mark III (size 52, Cloak +621)
you are still "only" looking at, +3.440 attack, +5.784 defence, +2.795 shield, +5.525 hull, +1.620 energy and 2.764 cloak (before bonus from race, profession and installed % systems) the only stat that realy makes any difrence here is Cloak and to some extent energy (energy mostly due to the fact, that you would need 270 prisenors to get the same energy as you would be able to get from 75 Bots, so that +1620 attack more from Tactical Officers instead of having to spendt those points on Engineers)
it not that hard to add 3K attack, 5K defence, 3K shield and 5K hull with Prisenors, androids, XCharge Cells and Brackets if you have high artifact production
unfortunaly, it doesnt change the simpel fact that standart systems still sucks, compaired to some of the special systems Dan have given us the last year.....
2. Upkeep a second set of standarts systems = you need more Mining and recearch planets to pay for them and that basickly reduce your artifact production as you need more planets doing Mining/recearch
if you combine it with a reduced upkeep for standart systems to make them more usefull and to compensade for the fact that Engineers, Tactical Officers, Helmsmen cost you 0 upkeep, it might work but as things are now, I wouldnt bother adding more standart systems to my ship, even if I got the option to do so

How about an add on to the research tree for all ship branches not including the planetary and legion base branches, that can be researched multiple times and when you have finished the research for say energy it will upgrade your proxy's by 25% up to 500% once all 3 of those are at 500% it activates an ability, and the same goes with everything now with the cannons where they can currently be upgraded to 100% with havoc coils, the ability for all 8 upgraded won't be available til those are at 600%. Means you can upgrade the other two entropy's and also the exergonics as well. Upkeep should stay the same as well as the size of modules.
It will take a lot of research to complete it all, so a great use for our research.

the point is to help large ships, so I suggest making the size larger, attack increase but the UPKEEP reduced.
