Post subject:  Spectral, Bounty Hunter - new Ally idea

Unsure about how to obtain it, but maybe from a mission chain or 50 red, blue, and yellow (it's not geared toward high ranks, but more like mid ranks)

Spectral, Bounty Hunter
Att 70
Def 80
3% increase per rank

50 Hull at rank 30
50 Shield at rank 60
5% PVP attack and defense at rank 100

Rank up by disabling AND raiding and HACKING "WANTED" player (three colours on ONE player).

Wanted player is a random Race or Profession, so for your 2nd rank you can disable, raid, and hack a Governor, then for 3rd you must go for a Genetarr.

bad idear...
try finding a Governor at low rank, that is almost imposible as you need to unluck the Litheor, Uldrinan or Xecti races first

once players move past rank 1000, they tend to end up as Excavator, fixer or Governor, so once you get to rank 2000+, it will be extreamly hard to find a miner

+1 to the idea and -1 to that comment. It's easy enough to have a low rank alert someone in the legion for badging.

I like the idea of having to triple badge a player to get a reward.

so let me get that straith Chloron...
you think it is fair, that a rank 2000+ player have to kill, raid and hack rank 400 players alerted in legion to get a rank up for a Ally :)

actions that doesn't even give badges, as they fall outside the normal attack range

miner can still be found at high rank, have a rank 800 miner on scanner atm
but don't think I have seen any Merchant, Biologist or Physicist for quite some time

my point hare is simply this, Profession and Race tends to move towads Excavator, fixer or Governor as you gain ranks

at rank 400-700, you could proberly hunt down 100 Wanted targets in less then 24 hours
at rank 100 it would be hard for you to Raid any Guard or Governor even if they get alerted in legion
and at rank 2000+ miner, Merchant, Biologist or Physicist will be a problem,


if you are Rank 500 - 700, this ally is quite easy to rank up, but as I see it, you should be able to rank it No matter what rank you have without neding your legion to alert targets for you, so having to kill, raid hack - a random profession or race doesnt realy work for me

the stats on it are terrible, the method of ranking has no timer so you can essentially get it done in 2-3 days by leaping legion to legon for alerts. It is just not a great idea.

Underlined the key word in that sentence. You can't badge those outside your badge range.

For those saying that it's gonna be hard to find certain races and professions... Life's not easy, and if you want something bad enough, you'll go get it. Man up guys. Seriously.

I like the idea. It's diverse, unlike current ally rank-up requirements.

Oh, and it's PvP oriented. More people that have it, the less halcyons around. Is a win-win-win from my point of view.

Increase the stats a little, and change the rank method to 5x of each badge(red, blue, yellow) with an 18 hour cooldown (18 for handing in 15 badges, 8 for handing in ANY 5 of one colour).

This way, those who have ranked past the point where many of the professions and races simply vanish can rank up their new toy just as easily as a lower rank with more targets.

It's been well over a year since I've seen a biologist. Probably just as long since I've seen a Sillixx. Not easy is one thing, damned near impossible is something completely different.

If the professions and races were re-balanced so 90% of the ones that aren't named Fixer, Excavator, Konqul, Litheor and Taltherian are actually usable in the modern metagame, I would support this idea. but as it is no thank you (and knowing Dan, he never seems to like changing current game mechanics even if it's glitched like the biologist profession), players aren't going to change professions just so other people can rank their allies.

and you are missing the point
at rank 2000, for the player to be in badge range he have to be rank 1200
try finding a rank 1200+ Sillixx or biologist or Merchant..... only reason a rank 1200+ player would be that race or profession would be to temporary work on some medal, before switching back to Konqul, Litheor and Taltherian and Excavator, fixer or Governor

sure, you can get low rank members to find and arert them for you, so it's not imposible to rank up that ally

if the stats are worth it, sure I'll hit rank 100 players to rank it to get the targets I need......

but just dont see the point of making a system where you can rank the alliy within 24 hours at rank 400 - 800
a Ally should work for all ranks, and you should have a fair chance to rank it, no matter if you are rank 100 or rank 3000

to clarify :

You don't need to 'badge', only to disable-raid-hack (yeah, you can combo alerted low ranks)

The stats itself is geared toward mid rank ally (Sehrin), but I agree it needs tweaking on hull number. Remember the rank up bonus is 3% not 2% as usual.

Before posted this I already thought a 'Track' ability. The target required to rank up the ally must be Tracked first before getting disabled-raided-hacked, thus preventing the same target from being attacked for Spectral ranking for another 20 hours.

one problem with that..... Traps
if I was online at the time, the second someone used that ability on me I would set Halcyon Trap/Krionus Virus Traps
and you could easily end up using the ability on someone already running a Halcyon Trap

but having to use an ability (with a 20 hours cooldown time) would solve one of the problem so rank 400 - 800 players cant get it to rank 100 in a few days

but, I like it as it would make it a challenge to find a target and make sure you can kill it before you use the the ability on it



the problem with professions can be solved by moving from Random race / profession to picking from a list based on your rank
rank 100 to 300, standart races (Aerlen, Human, Inergon, Konqul, Sillixx, Vygoid)
rank 300 to 1000, any race
rank 1000+ endgame races only (Litheor, Konqul, Taltherian, Uldrinan)

and you could limit the professions you need to get, based on your rank in a simular way, so it would be posible for all players no matter what rank they have to rank the ally up
