Post subject:  Lets make all planet defense stats relevent again@

Well I have been thinking about it, and cloak is basically the only stat that matter's these days, after all invisable planets are the best of planets. So I am going to make a suggestion that would help make the galaxy a touch more dangerous again.... I would like to reintroduce the Alien Star Chart Artifact. with the ability to put any random planet on your scan cloak alone will no longer keep you safe.

Thoughts?

this is a BAD suggestion because it removes any incentive to spend money on the game.

what is the point of spending time and GP on transfusers to build up a nice planet and then have it open to be taken away from you so easily ?

Here are my thoughts on this idea.

Defense is outdated. Any legion in the top 50 could take a planet with 400k defense(and any legion in the top 10 could take a planet with 1mil defense) if everyone rolled their invasion at it, someone would get the planet. I've seen it occur with a rank 300 w/~5k attack who grabbed a planet with 200k defense.

Brining back the Alien Star Chart, would just be a big *Yuck Fou* to everyone who just spent the last 2-3 years cloaking their worlds & when they realize they've completely wasted their time with what is just much better strategy than just bricking your planet, they won't stick around for long. They wouldn't quit right away, but as soon as their planets start going bye-bye, and with no feasible nay comparative way to replace them(after 2 years)/make more, they will.

This game stopped being about who is more dangerous a long time ago. You only need to read the forum posts and the whining comms left every day, people do not want their planets found, let alone an artifact which would guarantee it will be found.

I'm all for introducing new features that would make defense relevant, but this idea doesn't make planetary defense relevant again... it just makes cloak a lot less relevant.

Technically, doesn't a crit hack count as a way to get any planet?

One of my older ideas for something similar were that defensive structures also reduced the maximum percentage chance of a sucessful invade.

I.e, a planet with 15 obviation barriers i wouldn't bother buffing before taking under current rules. But if each one also blocked, say, 3% maximum invade chance, i would be down to a 55% max chance.

% bonuses to invasion would directly counter this. I.e, 6% bonus invade from exotic bio disruptor would push that back up to 61%.

Obviously different researched defenses would give different percentages, and the % they give could be something totally different than the above example.
