can we have the option to change out type of government? it would mostly be a title change and would add a small bonus to the game.
Dictatorship: +10% planetary mineral production
Monarchy: +10% planetary artifact production
Communism: Mineral Tarrif reduced from 20% to 15%
Theocracy: -20% to research +25% to artifact production
Technocracy: +20% to research -25% to mineral production
Oligarchy: +15% to planetary production, planetary production timer increased by 15 minutes.
Democracy: +10% to research production
Feudalism: +5% bonus to planetary attack and defense
these are just suggestions. i think it would be fun to be able to actually have knights if ur in KoNR or KwsN, or actually have a space pope if ur in the Christian Legion, or have a council of elders if ur in the Dysonains, DOO, or DOO2.

Sounds like a good idea to add more spice to GL.

Interesting idea, it allows a bit more personalization to the game. And I am always up for a bonus here or there.

This is actually a really neat idea. It could be part of the "bases" but I don't see why it would need to be lumped in with that. I suppose it would profoundly affect which legion people choose. Low levels have very little reason to want to be in a theocracy but higher levels definitely would with how resource caps work and how expensive research can make everything. Maybe it could be tweaked a little so things were a little more even and the unbalanced ones weren't slightly nerfed. I think the leaders could choose or take unofficial votes if they really wanted to. I wouldn't want to convince 50 people they should acquiesce to a theocracy when it clearly has a 5% loss compared to the other ones though. You could have group missions to unlock forms of government.
Part of the idea I had on how bases should function was that they should provide a benefit that could be improved or even lost. Those could all be ship effects (att/def/cloak/scan/something special. It would avoid overlap and it makes a lot more sense for the economics of things to be based around a government rather than some hub that, realisticly, would be insignificant compared to the thousands of planets in a legion. Bases could be more of a strategic thing, since planets can fill most of any of the other roles a base might play.

I don't think oligarchy, communism and feudalism look very appealing compared to the rest. You would have to include anarchy to make project anarchy happy. Before I'm told, yes I know they create anarchy more than they subscribe to it.
I think one of them should raise resource caps. Since, unless you buy the storage structures, most people end up filling up their research and mining in 6 or 7 hours eventually.

im not so sure that we should have a elder council tho maybe a United Legions to keep NAPs and alliances in check and to help settle disputes. but not a Elder council that controls the ebb and flow.

Well it could be totally different. My guess is that it probably is the same idea just adjusted for balance and appeal. One is supposed to be a pacifist government, probably democracy or something. IMO, it is production version of what I think bases should do for stats. bases could be improved or captured/disabled making it a bit different.

What is this Pacifist thing that Dan was talking about ? Is it like a no-PVP flag or something in effect ?
