First of all, this mission is not a serious suggestion. It is the final and the most annoying mission in a series of annoying missions but it gives a reward of 12 very interesting artifacts.

Asphodelian Skies

Mission Briefing
We've witness many type I civilizations perish through their own designs but one of such catastrophes we've seen stands out. Our scientists have spent innumerable hours studying how to recreate that particular phenomenon which gave very enticing results. What better way to culminate your vision than to unleash it in our enemies. We trust, in the end it will be worth the effort.

Requirements: rank 300+, 20 disables, 20 planetary invasions, 20 enemy kills, 100 NPC kills

This mission will end after being completed once. 75 rounds.
Per Round Requirements: 1 scientist (1 scientist is killed every round), 100 energy, 1 Prejoran Tech, 1 XTS-9, 10 complex tech parts, 1K research points, 10M Credits, 1 errant disfavor (dropped by Errant Asphodel Pilgrims - NPCs that randomly appear while this mission is active)

[Note: The Errant Asphodel Pilgrims are lost ships still trying to find that non-existent planet called Asphodel. The ships keep running around in that orbit where the planet used to be but all their crew have been dead a long time ago from malevolent phenomena called Pandorum Syndrome that affects both android and biological crew members.]

Per Round Risks:
A chance to activate one or two of the following effects:
Pandorum Syndrome (random crew deaths),
Tesseract Explosion I (massive ship damage 5k - 10k),
Tesseract Explosion II (10 permanent hull damage),
Tesseract Explosion III (5 permanet shield damage),
Tesseract Implosion I (shipwide module damage),
Tesseract Implosion II (-1 deck space),
Tesseract Implosion III (-5 cargo space)

Rewards:
1 Pandorum Command Console (artifact - +75 scan, +75 cloak, size - 1),
1 Pandorum Command I (artifact - [Destroys the planet and transfer its control to you]. target: enemy planet with size large or lower. Planet size is reduced by 3 and all productions is reduced by 3. Transforms the planet to a barren type and has a passive stats of 5K cloak, and +10K to all maximum planetary production limits. Planet is renamed Asphodel I, II or III and so on.)
3 Pandorum Command II (artifact - target: enemy ship. kills 3 random enemy crew and gives you 3 rank points),
3 Pandorum Command III (artifact - target: enemy ship. The target becomes unable to allert any enemies or planets for 4 hours),
3 Asphodilian Prison - (artifact - Constructs an Asphodelian Prison in your planet. [ size: 1, +1k defense, +1k attack, +1k to all maximum production limits]),
1 Asphodilian Fetish Trophy - (artifact - +20K to all maximum production limits),
+25 to evil allignment (LOL).

You posted this as a joke, but I would like you to hear my feedback none the less:
The background behind this I definitely think could be made into its own storyline. If you make the mission chain long enough you can go FTW with the end-game rewards. In fact, with your permission I would like to make it for you. :)

I will call it the Pandorum Saga!

As a saga maker, I would like to see this made into a saga myself. As for the mission...yeah...way too hard, even for the highest ranked people.
