... And, possibly surprisingly, I'm not going to mention the damage cap (after this sentence).

Idea #1: Crew limits. Independent of modules installed, perhaps limit your crew numbers according to your deck space. Something like 100 crew members per deck.

Possible problems with this idea: Implementing it from the beginning might have worked, but implementing it now? Someone with 100,000 crew members and only 500 decks is obviously over the limit so do they automatically lose half their crew? Double in size? Get their crew recycles into rank points? Get to stay over the limit, but be unable to add further crew until they catch up with their decks?

Idea #2: Cloak efficiency. Larger ships should be, theoretically, easier to scan. Have some multiplicative scaling between decks and cloaking so a super-small ship with 5,000 cloaking would be far better cloaked than a super-duper-Toastar-class ship with 5,000 cloak. Would work as a cloak-per-deck thing.

Possible problems with this idea: Could make hacking very difficult or ever impossible for larger ships, so a solution would be needed for this. E.G. No difference in cloaking once you hit, say, 1 cloak per deck (or 2 or 3 decks) but up until then there IS a multiplicative scaling, so a ship with 10 cloak per deck is going to be better than a ship with 5 cloak per deck, but having 5000 cloak at 1 cloak per deck (5,000 decks) is no better than having 5000 cloak at 1 cloak per 2 decks (10,000 decks).

C&C appreciated.

It doesn't matter if you are a SSB or LSB since everyone's end game damage cap is 5009 anyway and what we really need to do is strengthen the LSB and not weaken or nerf the SSB. Everyone can be strong no matter what size they are if they just put their mind to it and invest in the time to build a strong ship.

In the case of weakening the SSB does absolutely nothing to increase the player base of galaxy legion. A similar suggestion has been posted before and rejected many times.

This one: Minimum Decks for Crew Support

We need to strengthen the LSB by making the modules they hold more valuable and allow SSB's to decide if they want to get big to fill their damage cap if they want to or not instead of being forced to increase their decks. In that case, there needs to be a reward for increasing their decks instead of being forced to.

Like this one: Big Hurkin' Ship Modules

The nerfing of the SSB destroys freedom for new players and old players and weakens the player base.

I would say not loose the crew members but they have 0 effect above the limit. I still like the idea that someone else had of making a new line of modules to compensate for crew.. crew quarters or something like that, new researched line to increase crew limits per deck.. or just limit it that way..

either way.. +1

or perhaps mods that add extra % to crew modifers but make em huge. example

Solar school
Size 150
your TO's gain a 10% bonus on their attack.
