Not sure if this has been suggested, but I would love to see check mark boxes next to the planet list which would allow us to "check all" and purge 10 planets at a time. This would use 10 purgers, and purge ten planets with one click instead of 10. Again not sure if its been suggested or not, but it would be nice to see, or even a cumulative check mark box so we can go page to page and the total check marked planets would show below and you can select use purger. If you had the right amount of purgers it would wipe out "all" of the planets you have checked at one time.

Just a thought.

Thanks for your input on this.

-1 from me, purely because from my own perspective purging is already really really quick to do.

I just align my cursor and click to open the quick bar, hit purger, rinse and repeat as each planet removes itself from my database.

I've been known to purge 100 planets in around a minute using the method already available.

For the most part, I agree with Kirk. I think the only thing missing that might make it a little nicer is if there was a "Hide Flagged" option.

That would really speed things up using his method.

I personally would find it a whole lot quicker to be able to hit a check mark all button and kill 10 at a time. The quick bar is ok, but still promotes carpal tunnel with repetitive motion....lol....I often find myself clicking the wrong item with the quick bar trying to purge fast. Plus it would help having it as I tend to purge all of my planets... then run a scan run, purge planets I don't want and scan again in succession.

Plus there is no aligning your cursor, you have to slide it over, then goto the next planet click the quick bar, slide over purge, rinse and repeat... so its not as quick as it could be IMO.

I don't see a negative in adding check marks, and a check mark all button, just allows you to purge faster and scan more while your buffs are up.

Here is the alignment i am talking about.

Maybe it doesn't work for your screen resolution or whichever, but it does for me;

As you can see from the screenie below, my purger lands right over where the quick bar is, so i can tap the purger shown, and then tap the quick bar again and tap purger again.

1.) Aligning your cursor is very simple. Depending on your screen size you would probably zoom out until it aligns.
This means that when you click on the quick use the cursor would be pointed at purger.
2.) Use the mouse keys to click, double clicking(validated a while back and this is probably the best use for it). Opens the quick use and purges all with one click.

-1, it seems simple enough with the strategy above, similar to Kirks but more efficient/faster.
Depending on speed you should get between 1 and 4 planets per second(maybe more but no tests have been done)
1 click = 1 purge rather than 2 clicks.

Back in the day you had to click on xxxxxx planet, go to use planet artifact, click use planet artifacts, go to purger, purge planet, exit out, and start again.

However some of us use our desktops, laptops, phones for much more than this game and changing a resolution of the screen to simply match a game online when most of your work done on the computer isn't the game seems a bit over the top.

What harm would it be if a checkmark was placed by the planet as well as the quick menu, and then a checkmark all button?

No one has stated why it would be so out there to make it a request?

Respectfully yours,

Palentir

PS: BTW I was here back in the day, and was part of that, click the planet, click the purger, rinse and repeat. I am not saying the current method is bad, just that it can be improved upon.

It's already been made easier. I see no reason to make it any easier.

Your opinion, I just think it could be even better, and faster. But I appreciate the feedback

As I mentioned before and have done on various computers ZOOM OUT/IN.
Let's say you purge 1000 planets monthly(less than 10% of the players do this).
Following your strategy you probably take 20-30 minutes.
Following Kirks strategy you should get 10 minutes, cutting the time significantly.
I think mine would take about 5 minutes.

The -1 is because I would prefer new content/use all(Don't believe we're getting it but it should definitely come before this. 8 artifacts simple to code vs a purger that will take longer to implement).

Not saying it's a bad idea, just saying other needed things should come before this.
Work smarter not harder.

Stuffy I concur with you in regards to new content, so I will end my thoughts on this thread, but leave it open for others to add to, or comment on.

Your opinion

That's kind of part of the whole "suggestion" process. The fact of the matter is that it's already been made so easy to purge planets. Asking for it to be made easier and changed again is just being fussy.

If that's your worry, then you should stop playing.

Immediately.

Just like there are no negative sides to a whole lot of other suggestions. It doesn't mean they're wanted and/or required.

Others have already suggested other methods. If you use them correctly, you should have no issues with purging planets.

Honestly, with the programming and viewing changes, it will need to implement the checkbox and the loops to traverse it and all, it might take longer..

Also, what if the person doesnt have sufficient purgers to purge 10 planets but marks them all?

Code:
if($purgers < 10){

// no go
}

Not hard?

okay there is that.. but there's another thing

ideally(without having to redesign the whole planet page UI), the checkbox will have to replace the current quick use button(arrows).. this means flux probing isn't possible now, unless me makes major changes, capiche?

To the left of the planet image. Not really hard.
