 Battle Arena

I am rank 366 and it is nearly impossible to get a kill on the battle tab due to traps. I would like a chance to do battle without traps. In the Battle Arena all traps would be deactivated and players could do some real PVP. Of course there would have to be limitations on who you could do battle with. I think that it would be fair to challenge a player within 50 ranks of your ship. When in the Battle Arena nobody could attack you unless they were in the Battle Arena as well. That way a playerS could not be taken advantage of. This would make it possible to get badges without the hassle of traps.
I would like feedback on this please.

I think is a Great idea! Removing traps is good for these official battles, but maybe allow only using 2 artifacts per battle as for strategies and tactics.

I love the idea - maybe sectional championships with a 50 lvl grid. Also consider multi person battles such as 2 on 2..

That would be cool! A place where ships actually come to do battle... I like it. You could add all sorts of options. Such as 2 vs 2, handicapped (1 vs 3), or even "gambling" duels, where you could wager planets and artifacts. A good idea overall. ;)

I like this idea ... it is impossible to take down an enemy with traps unless you use a blitz legion attack to get badges. I know this isn't a pleasant experience but it wouldn't be so bad if we had a one on one joust between 2 people.

It would make things even better if we could make an agreement to hack each other and not worry about a planet being hacked but just RP or the opposite.
It would be nice if both people could vote on what rules they would use to fight each other and then do it. There is a game named Runscape that

I used to play a long time ago that had a battle arena and each person would add their idea what they wanted to fight with.
If one didn't like that persons option then they would try another but eventually they would come to an agreement what to use and then go it.
It added a new fun fresh dimension to the game and made it more enjoyable.

If it was implemented in this game the two that agree to fight one another could agree on what artifacts to use on down the line.

I'm sure it could be worked out where each person could have a certain amount of their RP / research points that they don't have to collect like 1k or something so they could spar with someone else so we could get badges and RP.
The same could be done with minerals and artifacts. The only way the two people involved could pick the raid option is that they would have to have mineral and artifact points ... common sense

Yea the game is named Galaxy Legion and team work should be encouraged but on the other hand I don't think it's a bad idea where we can go to joust another player with no traps.

We now have pvp vs legion and npc's vs legion and then we would have a one on one fight with this option.

I think this is a great idea..I wanted to say that as soon as the persons agree to the battle all weapons and such information be blocked from the other. This way each one might be able to have a better advantage if no artifacts are used. I like the idea and would love to see Dan look into this.
There might also be some double bonuses involved someway or another.

I love the idea of making terms. One could set how many artifacts could be used, or could agree to hack or not. The sky is the limit with all the things that could be set for parameters.

This sounds cool, I would make the rank within 10% of eachother or maybe 15.
50 ranks for a rank 100 would be a big difference in ship caliber and size.

I don't think 'battle arena' would be a very accurate name. Maybe 'combat simulator'.

I have played Runescape before and liked that combat system of theirs, the same applies for this korean MMO, Dragonica. You can set a whole variety of rules and terms and battle as you and your opponent would like it to be. If GL has this system it would add a new level of fun. No more having to deal with whiners or trash talkers, or any other energy wasting rubbish. I'm all in for this idea.

Its a good idea. Might even be a good way to curb badges and the subsequent wars. Like you log in and you have to stay in for an hour... or something...?

not all traps are bad but the Halcs and the C-missles need to get nerfed hard. The shear amount of them is just too much. Remove them from the arti drop and put them on a rare mob or something. When everyone you fight has a ship chock full of halcs and KVs your not ever going to kill them unless you manage to get them when they're off line, and even then you'r still waiting an hour and a half. As for the battle arena i'm not too keen on.

To a great idea. Many of The Trust players would love to participate in a Arena style area which hopefully still awards xp for the energy used.

I vote no on this "suggestion", if you dont want an KV trap, DONT pvp!
simple as that.

I Rather vote for changing halycon trap back to effect NPC tab!

@FuriousRage, I think you're just afraid that your KV traps won't be able to protect you if this were to happen and you had to participate in the arena. I mean these damned traps can protect a rank 60 from a rank 300 if it sets off early, or it'll be a waste of energy that wasn't worth the effort. At rank 492, surely you should understand how hard is it to earn kills. Or perhaps you're one of those peaceful pacifists.

Blitz just wants traps removed so he and his buds can gang bang others bullying others without downsides to later sit and do npcs like nothing happened.

I think you accidentally put this in the wrong thread.

Back in topic: I think this is a good idea, as new players will have a risk-free way to train by using the arena. (perhaps make a 20-and-under category)
