ok Dan i'm thinking the Tactical Bypass item is in need some nerfing I made the mistake of trying to pvp a random guy, now his entire legion is out for blood, (no they are like crazy feral out for blood) including players 200+ levels above me... but anyway back on topic My issue is that I only visit facebook / Galaxy Legion a handful of times a day, and having an item that cripples a ship by forcibley uninstalling defensive and offensive components is seriously detrimental to any form of survivability.
Perhaps this item can only negate the effects of the Defensive and Offensive components for the next several shots, or only for the player who launched it I got hit by 3 of them... anyone with a squirt gun could have came along and disabled my ship any time within the 17 or 18 hours i'm away from the computer.
Also there is the issue of Item Condition, especially on items Special items that cannot be purchased for minerals and installed anytime the condition runs low. i mean replacement components would get costly if a legion had enough of these to forcibly uninstall even the common ship items.
Granted i can now start to rely on helmsmen and tactical officers a bit more than installed components, but by the time i have enough of them to make any siginificant difference in my stats... yeah i'm rambling
anyways those are my suggestions

I agree that it is kind of a problem that it just leaves you open to anybody until you can come back. As for the condition, 1) I believe Dan said it doesn't damage the modules, 2) you can repair modules, even special ones, you don't need to replace them. EDIT: Here's where he said that: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4581&start=0&hilit=Tactical+Inner+Bypass

no uninstalling ship components doesn't necessarily reduce condition, usually i notice the the condition drop when re-installing them, as such i normally try not to uninstall much, especially if it is a special item.
even if this device doesn't affect the condition how do we go about repairing the condition of Components? In the past i've scrapped a couple Zolazin Cloak Enhancers Beacuse they had next to no condition left.

You get the option to repair them after they actually break.

So you get disabled once in 18 hours...... Who cares. Pay the repair with all the minerals you are banking and move on.

Oh yeah, didn't think about that, you can't be disabled again until you come back on anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I think that the Tactical Bypass should require a hack before every use, therefore giving at least 15 minutes between uses (unless they have time manipulators).

Its called communication. Tell your members not to do it. Anyone who does after being told is probably in need of a lesson.
And I think the bypass is strong, especially if I go hunting and only realize have an energy bar later that 5 out of 8 Null rays are offline! LoL But its no worse than ranking up without turning off your relays and turning on your cores. Diligent players who keep keen eyes on their ships will notice, not to mention its put right on your news feed. Suggesting nerfing first has to start with the player making sure he/she is doing everything they can to be alert and aware of whats going on on their ship.

There is always new players coming in that don't get the message (literally and/or figuratively) and would repair because they think they are helping. People may not make the same mistake twice, but everyone will make mistakes.
