A new trap that works similar to the omicron mine. when a ship attacks you for every rank above you they would take 25x damage. so if youre a 200 and theyre 225, theyd take 625 damage. if youre 200 and theyre 600, theyd take 10,000 damage. if theyre a lower rank than you, they would not set off the trap. this would give some protection to people getting ganged up on, especially if theyre lower ranked than the aggressor.

not bad but i think it would work better if you the threshold for the trigger was 10 levels above you or 10% above you. i get where you are coming from, trying to force people to badge hunt closer to home.

also i think the multiplier is a bit high i think 10 or 15 per level would be more fair, but i love the idea of a scale-able artifact

well, i was trying to keep the initial 40% between thetacrons and omicrons, while outside the 40% would take some real damage.

what happens if they are lower level than you? does it repair them?

I had posted that a lower level could not set off the trap. if they disable you the trap would still be intact after the battle.

+1 higher levels need to stop the attacks on lower levels, and if you say I'm bias, I'm rank 296. I just feel there needs to be more honor there

It should also not go off on people who are 5 ranks away from you.

I did suggest before about a level-matched invasion defense building, so how about a ship trap that damages the attacker equal to 3 times their level?

5x sounds better to me. I'm level 312 so 3x would do 936 damage, that doesn't even eliminate my shields even though I don't even have any researched modules. 5x though, that's gonna scratch the paint...
