im working on a mission chain that is based off several movies, videogames, and books. The mission chain is not finished, but i have an idea about the race and the history behind it, please let me know what you think.

Mission 6- Shocking Discovery
After heading investigating a very weak thermal energy signature under the surface of some of the barren planets, you are hailed by an undocumented civilization. 'Well, it has been centuries since the last outsider has dared venture into our borders, but now, it seems we need assistance from a pilot such as yourself. We are the Vrykolaks. An ancient race plagued by the desicions of our past. Long ago we sought dominence above all else, we led legions of ship, conquered hosts of planets, and ruled mercelessly. However, another race challenged us for dominence. The Prejor. We fought for centuries for controll of the galaxy, but they slowly overwhelmed us. In a final effort to keep our race from becoming extinct we created a weapon that would harness the power of our suns to destroy the prejorans planets. We were able to destroy hundreds of their planets, but in the process, our stars collapsed into themselves forming this system of neutron stars. Because we could not survive without our stars light or heat, we retracted underground, where we were able to construct encapsulated cities beneath the surface of our planets. Because we could not leave the cities we constructed, our race evolved seperately on different worlds. Unfortunately, our race developed a disease where we cannot form the basic chemical bonds required for sustanence, and we must ingest these chemicals externally. Simply, vampirism. Only recently have we been unable to aquire enough lifeforce to keep our expanding population alive, and we had to risk venturing out. By doing this, we were able to reunite our empire, and form a heirarchy of subraces that work together for our common good. However, we have little knowledge of the modern world, and could use your help. We are working on a cure for this disease, but for now we need sustenance. Provide us with this and you will be greatly rewarded.'
-Per Round Requirement: 1 Red Badge
-Risk: You must disable enemy players to gain red badges
-Reward: TBD

Vrykolak- An ancient vampire race that seeks dominence of the galaxy. By claiming to be the superior caste of the system they designed, they graft weaponized limbs of warriors from lesser castes on their bodies in hope to become the ultimate warrior. Although advanced technologically and genetically, they have one flaw, their inability to survive without a bi-daily infusion of chemicals needed for basic bodily functions.

Vrykolak- Gains a 25% bonus to attack and defense when in pvp. Additionally, all badges gained double (each disable gives 2 red badges, each hack gives 2 blue, etc)

Must gain 2 pvp kills a day (when upkeep is due) or else will recieve -25% penalty to attack/defense/scan/cloak each day no kills are gained (penalty stacks). when kills are gained for the day all penalties are removed.)

got to say i like this race but i would be far more interested if it was +25% attack/defense when PvP and NPC.

i was thinking about wether or not that would be a good option... this is supposed to be like the drannik for pvp, but i dont want the stats so overpowered that they can kill anyone no matter what, considering higher levels have a few thousand tac officers. 25% of 11k is an extra 2750 attack. if i bumped it up to 40% like drannik, it would be an extra 4400, which i believe is too much.

but you pretty much said they are hell bent on domination of the galaxy not domination of the galaxy from players just made more sense to me and i like NPCing alot more than PvPing but i would still easily get the 2kills per day.

Heh. I have 6k tactical officers and I'm still a Konqul.. I always hope for Konqul-upgraded race to upgrade myself. I just hate to lose attack bonus plus I really love Konqul race that I had been that way since May with temporary switch to Lazuli for few weeks..

Couple things...

Doubling red badges I can understand, even yellows as well, but I don't think blues should double. First, they are too easy to get already, and second its a non-violent action.

-25% per day is pretty extreme. If you don't log on for a couple days for whatever reason (holiday, real life, internet on the fritz) your ship is SERIOUSLY nerfed making it damn near impossible to get the necessary kills to clear the penalty. Unless you intend a containment cage/null fuse have the ability to cancel it, I'd say -5% would be enough to make things interesting.

Otherwise, I like it.
