ok, so i was reading Gwilsons idea about the solar system, and i thought of an interesting holiday event. Since humans are a playable race and join legions along side all other species in this game, i think that on earth day, earth suddenly comes under attack by a group of aliens (new race that looks like classic martians) and players in the galaxy have to guard the planet and prevent it from being taken. The planet could be owned by dan, and be bricked like exotica, or have very little defense.

The point of guarding the planet is while you are guarding it 2 types of these new NPCs show up. an NPC that drops a holiday module/artifact/building and an NPC that drops a mission artifact that is required to do the special event mission. When completed the player would be awarded with a special artifact, an Earthling Embassy. this would be a size 5 and have stats similar to an omnibase.

IF no one guards the planet, and the aliens 'take' it then the mission ends short of the time limit. If the planet is retaken then the mission is reinitiated but the original time limit will still stand. (im thinking of this as a week long mission. so if the misison ends on thursday, and it gets captured on monday, then retaken on tuesday, the misison will still end on thursday.)

I like it too. We haven't heard otherwise that Earth shouldn't still exist. Even though I'm a Genetarr it would still be fun.

Why not a special event artifact
Convert a barren and/or oceanic and/or volcanic and/or toxic into a terra planet +2 all ressources (no more size avoid the mega mega collossal from the oceanic)

i defiantly agree with that if dan made the solar system. like idea of new aliens and you get planet earth on scans for mission. it would also be based on current time earth, like all of are galaxy legion stuff is going on but earth is like it is now. like idea of special artifacts to, but think should add some special stuff that comes from the humans on earth. if the mission was completed with humans still on earth, earth's native population would probably get bit more defense and it would be king of hill type thing if someone is able to take it. would be hard to take in first place though cause of such high population. But when earth still has native population, anyone who scanned can guard it even though not there's. and each earth day, we all got to help humans on earth retake planet form whoever took it [if someone took it].

a planet named earth is owned by someone forget who. still would be cool if each race had a homeworld.

I like but other option : It's post 2012 , the poles had shifted caused mass floods,earthquakes nuclear meltdowns among other massive pollutants that left the planet in a shroud of darkness for XXX years, now human scientist and political leader have announced that the earth has given re-birth and was once again habitable ....... but upon attempts to land scientist's and the first colony were attacked by terribly mutated humans , we suspect the earth has thousands of them across the new land masses, they run in packs of 50-100 ...... mission will basically be "attempt to invade" based on attack and defense you will "kill X amount of mutants" and take "X amount of crew casualties" a difference between the two will award you XP & research points,and possibly an artifact after so many invasion Attempts.

why crew casualties? rank points are hard enough to come by... i might attempt it depending on the average number of crew losses, but right now even 1 crew death is a huge loss for me. if i was any lower rank, i know i DEFINITLY wouldnt even consider attempting something like this unless it was as good as the M.O.M. suggested for mothers day. im not sure lower ranks would consider this a viable mission, and as dan stated that 'most players are under 250' that leads me to believe the majority of players are 'low rank' and would not participate in this mission. i know i gave up raiding after 4 critical fails, and only recently started back up again due to the badge system. but after yet another critical fail, raiding isnt worth my time anymore, and niether is the psb mission, and niether would this mutant human mission.

I already came up with the idea for there being a homeworld for each and every race, everyone shot it down. The game just isn't ready for homeworlds.

ok maybe no crew casualties but the storyline ...... I'm interested in the whole 2012 thing and would like to play off it (as if any of us would survive...lol)

then we are doing this as 2012 passes, nothing happens LOL
