Would it make sense to add a 7th forum to the list, for player trades? It would be nice to see a player economy evolve.

I like the idea
there's one major issue tho.
What a player can offer for an item at lvl xx cannot match an offer from a player with 50+ lvl than him.
For instance your offer on flux probes is generous for your level, however I happened to pay double that for them to some of my legion members, and it probably have a smaller impact on my budget than yours in the end.

Before the forum is added I would like to see an in game market added. Artifacts would of course be the main thing but minrals could be traded for them ect...
Once we have something to work with, people can start to see an artifacts worth to people. Then adding a forum would be useful to have so people can set trade deals based off of those prices.

This has always been and always will be the case in any online game market. The way things usually balance out is the high level players get low level items for lots of cash, and low level players get lots of cash for selling low level items. Low level players might have a harder time competing for items that high level players want. On the flip side, high level players tend to NEED those items more. Sure, an in-game market would be excellent, if we had that we wouldn't even need a forum for it. But that but would be a LOT of work and I don't expect to see anything like that any time soon, so for now this would be a good place to swap our junk.

For a market, I would think that artifacts should only be able to be sold within their scrap price.

Why go through the trouble if you would get just as much by hitting the scrap button? The point of a marketplace forum would be nothing more than a means for buyers and sellers to connect. Prices would be driven by supply and demand. Common artifacts like Flux Probes are extremely useful, and would probably sell for a lot more than rarer artifacts like Neural Interfaces. I don't know about everyone else, but my cargo hold is FULL of artifacts that I don't use - PvP items, cloning pods, more chassis than I can count. I'd gladly trade these for utility items like flux probes, energy cubes, traps and such. GL handles gifting differently than most browser games. There is no "free" gifting of multiple items. The single item structure makes it hard for getting what you want, or getting rid of what you don't need.

I'm sort of ambivalent about the idea. The lower ranks would be able to catch up to the higher levels easier when credits aren't as much of an issue. I like that about it, mostly because of self-interest. I produce 260 artifacts/hour right now, so I could bang out flux probes pretty fast... I hate gaming markets though, its always a hassle and a haven for spam.

Chassis are very good at all levels in my opinion, especially the ones that have some cloak built in. Plus for 1 point of space, it never fails that after you put in all your big structures, you have a couple of spaces left over, they are good for that purpose too. I wouldn't write them off, every little bit helps, and keep in mind a newbie tends to get a lot of scans, if their scan is more then your planets cloak, it is up for grabs in the planet lottery, so if you have like 70 cloak, you can eliminate a LOT of the chance that a newbie will scan your planet and steal it or share it with their legion.

Most posts in the pub forum are now devoted to the buying and selling of planets or artifacts, which has me thinking again of a dedicated forum for trades. So, I figured I'd bump this post from almost a year ago!
