The Nova project
Description : Many gas planets have all the materials within there atmosphere similar to a small star, Using enriched pawlacite, we can ignite the gases with the Gas planets atmosphere, starting a nuclear fusion reaction and transforming it into a nova planet, the size increase of the planet will be enormous!
Award : Pawlacite Bomb (transform Gas planets into a Nova Planet)(Size increase by 3, Resource by 1)(Grants 200 passive defence) Requirements : 100 pawlacite, + 500 energy 30 rounds _ 3 completions Risks : Potential of Prior bomb explosion (Ship disabled [regardless of hull],mission failure [3% chance]) potential of pawlacite heat leak ( Crew member killed [8% chance[)
Notes : If used on a very massive planet, it will turn into a "Titanic" the size after the Megacolosal

I really like the sound of this. Gas planets are soo common and they rarely have decent stats, other than their size. Allowing them to be the only planet that can reach titanic size would just be sweet and give the planet type a new way to be distinct from the others.
+1 from me.

I think the 'upgraded' planet name should be nebula.

+1
but with most of my GAS planets I would really like to see the resources also increase by 3.
I would suggest that the mission be available at various ranks #1of3 after reaching rank 100 2of3 after reaching rank 200 3of3 after reaching rank 400.
and if the planet is taken then the mission resets and allows you to redo the mission.
just my two cents.

+1 but too many risks, like the crew member death. And i think you should make the resource increase bigger, even if you would have to make the sie increase smaller.

Technically you can't build anything "on" a gas planet either. My reasoning for naming it a nebula is for the greatly increased size, as nebulae are really grandiose.

I say we stick with Nova as the name. But because it is a star, the population would have to be 0, because everything on a star turns to plasma. This could open up a new branch of research. finding ways to survive on a star and being able to place buildings on a star.

I'd be too worried that I would lose it.

I have to question the physics of this. I know that no one is really an astronomer or a physicist so the science of the game is iffy, and that's cool. It's a fun game. But how could you rationalize turning a planet into a star?

But how could you rationalize turning a planet into a star? The Planet Jupiter has alot of hydrogen in its thick atmosphere, most stars fuse hydrogen together to form helium and fuse helium together to form berrylium so on and so forth, fusing atoms is known as nuclear fusion and release enormous amounts of energy, Its how hydrogen atomic bombs work. The Sun's enormous gravity can fuse hydrogen atoms together within the suns core, thus releasing releasing lots of heat energy, like a nuke, but really really big one! Using a pawlacite bomb, we can ignite the hydrogen and BOOM! There's star. If jupiter was larger, it could potentially be a second sun in our sky, but that really mess up our 12 hours day and night. lolol
