Yes of all things I have a planet idea or two. For those that have watched starwars should pick up where I got the ideas from. This for the first two the one after is more special Though all could be special past the basic idea. The last two are in part from another game I play. Though all are just thoughts and ideas. A planet that is all city (research being the big one, and maby the planet could give a free political faver if not start with a building that does). A ruined city from the past covers this full planet (artifacts being the main thing it gives a bonus to). This planet has ancient relics that dot the planet giving a small boost to energy and there presence acts like an energy battery (the planet starts with an artifact style building that can give 20 free energy per day or some such). This planet has ancient nodes that supply a special and hard to get substance something so strong whole wars have been fought over the planet. |

so in other words, rather/+ the boosts you resource production you would expect with these descriptions (massive gas planet with very rich research has a super computer and awesomescauce scientists) there would be a beuilding tied to that planet which would give a rare boost? |

In most cases yes, something that comes with the planet. Something worth having but rare. |

However, it does give me the idea for "machine planets' that would be limited to small sizes, but would have really high artifact and research. That is a great idea. in fact, that can allow a new mission thread, "treasure hunter," that can descover 'ruin planets' and grant random artifacts in other missions. These both can work, but might take a while to implement. the final one, however, should be limited to 1 per 30 dyson if it truely has something that powerful. |

Well, Zophah, are mines part of cities? Planets that are all city could add bonus to population and defense, but detract from production by one lvl, so a planet that is normally Very Abundant would be Abundant if you made it all city. A planet with ruined cities that add artifact and research is a good idea. Like Zophah said last 2 would be hard to implement, but I like it, and the adding energy part was suggested for homeworlds in the Homeworlds topic. Also, 1/30 Dyson would mean only bout one person in all of Galaxy Legion would have that material, I think it should be 1/100 Terra and 1/50 Exotic and 1/1 Dyson(How many people have 100 Terras or 50 Exotics or ESPECIALLY a Dyson in their scan list? That way, not everyone would have it, but it wouldnt be UNBELEIVABLY uncommon) and/or one planet that everyone fights for just like Exotica would provide 10x what a Terra or Exotic would provide(I think 2nd idea is most like what op suggested). Maybe when you gather enough of this substance , you could make a random module that would have the same image no matter how much you have researched, but would be 2 tiers in ability above yur research. Or you could sell it and it would be worth MUCH more than even Kurenite, maybe 5,000,000. |
