I think that at the end of the octafari-Mylari mission chain you should get an artifact called the Octafari-Mylarai pact. It should allow you to become the Mylarai and the octafari.
The Mylari can increase the mining production of a planet by 1(just like the Taltherian except for the production)
The Octafari should be able to increase research production of a planet by 1

The Mylari proffesions are: Builder, Miner, Merchant, raider, and fixer
The Octafari proffesions are: spy, hacker, builder, physcisit, and excavator

The Mylarai might be a little too strong, considering these missions are available to low-level players. And it seems unlikely the Octafari are about to sign a Pact, considering we just chased them off to who knows where. But I guess we'll see.

I have a feeling that at the end of the mission chain you are going to be able to be the octafari.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I can't recall the ending of the last major mission chain, but don't the "pact" missions get added after the chain is archived?

The only timed mission chain that allowed you become a race was the Zolazin one, after it was locked in.

The Stryll/Genetarr chain also allowed you to change race (to Genetarr).



I believe that is correct, so if you did the whole chain that mission should become available right after this one ends, otherwise you'll need to finish the ones you didn't do.

I'm sure we'll be playing as Mylarai, after all we did just kill the Octafari, and they wanted to rule us ruthlessly. In cases like this we usually unlock the race that helped us. Like the Genetarr. Maybe the Octafari will beg for mercy, and offer themselves to be allies to save their hides. We'll see on Friday, when some people can see the totally last mission.

although i would like having the octafari available, im excited to see what the mylarai player ships look like. If i was to guess what the racial rewards would be

Mylarai: Increase Planetary Mining by 1 every 40 hours for 200 energy
Octafari: Convert Barren to Oceanic, size 1 resource 1 every 168 hours (7 days) for 600 energy

Nah, then it would not be worth it for the octafari because you could only do it once on each planet
I think that it should increase research by 1 per planet, costs 200 energy, 40 hour cooldown

Why is the big rave all planetary stuff? I know it's a new thing, and rather useful, but I personally don't find it incredibly exciting. I'd like a race with better hacking, raiding, science output, shields, or maybe PVP bonuses. Or perhaps a new power that would be awesome.

how about a race that allows you to colinize a planet every 3 levels instead of four( the only problem is when you switch races)
