This can apply to any regular buff, but say you have a mission where you have to have 1000, 5000, or 10000 crimson obelisks in cargo at the same time, it uses a bunch of energy and that huge to make a module that makes the effect permanent (similar to the new modules like coalition data). The idea is if you have that many, you are basically set anyway, but without having to apply it anymore. Also gives a reason to stock some things where you have extra all the time. Does not stack with the original artifact effect (essentially you already have crimson obelisk on in this example permanently).

i wouldnt mind this. for 1000 energy and 10,000 obelisks (or any arti) it would become permanent. pretty much youre making it unremovable from containment missiles.

This is coming soon. It wasn't mentioned because it will be incorporated as part of a legion base component.

heh.. we were just talking about this in Stormfront, Dan. :) Certain NPC dropped artifacts start accruing by the ship-ton after a while, but nobody wants to burn them because something like this might come up.

I made a similar idea before about modules that grant passive bonuses equivalent to mission rewards:
Warp Priority Beacon grants the "Warp Priority" bonus from Repair Warp Gate.
Overcharge Lens grants the "Stable Overcharge" bonus from Weapon Yield Test.
Shadow Field Emitter grants the "Shadow Cloak" bonus from The Shadow Lab.

lol im sure its grid consols, ancient crystal foci, and crimson obelisks. i get maybe 30-40 obelisks from an npc run. im sure interfaces, hull swarms, traps, etc. wont be utilized.

Buffs lose meaning if they're permanent, and everyone has them.

It wont necessarily be permanent effects. Its simply a way to convert plenty of surplus artifacts into something else. :)

Excellent, I've always been partial to the idea of "combo-probes", maybe instead of returning exact values of attack and defense it could just let you peak through their cloak and look at their equipment ;p
