When it comes to planets in the game you own, they are always referred to as your colony. This is way they are determined to remain. In actuality, sooner or later a colony will move up from colony status. Maybe after a certain amount of time it can move up to a new status. This will bring bonuses to a planet's mining, artifact, research outputs, give some passive att, def, and cloak, and even generate some credits because of the economy that has taken hold.

i like the whole advancing from colony to tribe to village to town to city to metropolis etc. thing! although, i think the most they should give as a bonus to production is 10%, as we dont really need any more bonus production from planets (as much as i may want it) i really like your idea of passive effects. like, each stage the planet advances through would give it 500 passive attack/cloak/defense up to 2500 total passive stat.

Tribe, Village, and Town still sound like they would fall under colony status, but city and metropolis do give a nice upgrade sound to it.

yes but if the planet is ever attacked it would have to suffer a loss or be reset, so they have to rebuild. I like your idea as well and maybe make an town hall building on the planets that is permanent on all planets that show the current state of your planet with the option to boost one stat on the planet, by 1% per lv up to say 10%. and it can be any stat atk, def, cloak, mining, ap, rp ect etc..... however you may only have one bonus from the building at a time, and it will reset if the planet is ever attacked by another player.

They already do - over a 5-day period, they build a 100% bonus for development. No matter how developed a place gets, though - it remains a colony of the original homeworld, barring a disaster that completely cuts communication, or a revolution. Look at the US and Britain - no matter how developed the East Coast became, it was *still* the Colonies.

It's kind of two different senses of the word colony - one referring to a small group starting a new area, and the other a satellite entity separated geographically, but still politically subservient.

yes I am aware of the population stats bonus, this would be a colony bonus tho that can be applied to any stat not just production, call it a monument of worship if you want, but as the colonies advances so shouldn't the stats of the colony. town, city......

I understand what your saying but I like his idea about it advancing as well. just adds a little something to having a planet that has been un touched for so long.
