ok, so ive seen many players asking for a banking aspect to this game. the thing is, theres no point because our credits are untouchable!
i propose we be able to raid credits in addition to the norm of what we have available. There can even be a profession that allows just this, and that is the Pirate profession. grants the ability to loot credits from ships. but it would also be fine if it was just incorporated. Right now the only thing worthwhile to do is hacking or disabling. raiding is only good if you actually use heist dispatch centers. This way, raiding will actually harm the player its being done to and make it a viable option in a pvp grudge.

im not sure this would be a good idea. in other FB games that also have a "battle" system, you took creds from the player if you won. the problem is that when i sign off for the night, i would come back the next morning and find that all my money was gone. with the heavy PvP players, many people would be going bankrupt.

thats kinda the point. hacking removes their research which slows their development, and penalizes them permanently unless they hack. Raiding should do something similar. players often remove all their arti and mineral points so raiding is useless unless you have a million crew and can critically succeed each time. this would allow players to walk away with something they can use. im not talking billions at a time, but mabe 50 million or so.

Yeah, I'm not liking this idea much either. I can foresee someone getting "pirated" and not being able to pay their upkeep. Modules get damaged, eventually uninstalling, weakening the ship, leaving them open to easier disables/pirating, not being able to upkeep, etc. etc. etc.... Vicious circle that would inevitably lead to people quitting...

i get what you guys are saying. thats why i suggested it be available as a profession skill, and mainly mid higher levels would use it. it would be advantageous to players who want to penalize other high rank players in a battle.

maybe instead, you could raid and pillage, where you go damage to modules, just like not paying upkeep...

I'm just gonna give this a -1. No point to be honest. Even if Dan added it, it's not like he would allow you to plunder untold amounts of Credits. Just like the amount of research you hack isn't really that much compared to what you pull in for a single hour. JoshFFuller wrote: maybe instead, you could raid and pillage, where you go damage to modules, just like not paying upkeep... Not a good thing for players with higher end modules. It'd get to the point where they just can't afford to pay upkeep and replace/repair those expensive modules at the same time.

love it its an awesome idea, but it would better be implemented into the pvp structure when legion bases come online, with looting for cash, their also could be a setup for bountys, on these pirates, and to become a pirate would only be-available through a quest chain, the path to piracy, where you take full advantage of merchants, or trade ships, and the theft of cash would have similar pvp blocks as damage, so a level 500 could not loot a level 25 for his whole bankroll, maybe 2-4 grand. at that level thats sufficient to make some one go damn.
its a good idea, implementing it would not be to bad, but raiding is essentially the same thing.
you could also revamp up how you can use some credits, i'm at over 700 million creds at level 139, it more then covers my 549k cost. and my 70k repair bills at 1900+ health.
