I belive this may have been suggested before but I can not remember. Anyway, How about a new NPC type? just like the kalvium asteroids but differently colored and varying in sizes. here is just a rough example Average Dynite Asteroid This asteroid looks like it is made of nothing but Dynite, it probably came off of a moon. attack 50 defense 150 disable reward 10 xp you collect some of the dynite left over. 50 Dynite added to cargo The numbers could be changed depending on size. for example attack defense and rewards could be different depending on the mineral the asteroid is made from. And size classes (small average large) could change the amount of minerals collected. Maybe even make an elite/rare NPC that needs other to help destroy it like "Planet Destroyer Aidonium Asteroid" This massive asteroid could destroy a planet. Destroy it and collect debris before it can do any damage to a world. Attack 1000 Defense 2500 These numbers are just an example. If the idea is liked at all the numbers could be changed to work better. So what do you think? ![]() ![]() |

+1 needs tweaking though, wouldnt it be better if the asteroid is like a planet you mine, do research, mine artifacts? |

DEFINITLY +1 from me! it would be nice to get some compensation for my repair bill, or for higher ups to get a break from flamehawks. |

I see no reason an asteroid should have any attack. It can have a lot of defense (so it costs a lot of energy to defeat) but how is it going to attack you? |

ODragon wrote: I see no reason an asteroid should have any attack. It can have a lot of defense (so it costs a lot of energy to defeat) but how is it going to attack you? Well it was slightly based off of the kalvium asteroids. they had very little attack but it makes sense. asteroids can break apart and you may have to avoid some peices and if they hit you they could do damage. But like I said, if the idea was liked we could figure out any details that may need to be changed. If you all like this idea so much, then we should keep this thread going and expand on the details. ![]() |

Due to the composition of some asteroids, one might reflect some of the attack you make, causing damage. |

Agreed, this is a brillant idea +1. I like the idea of different asteroid types. |

Well, looks like it is a pretty well liked idea. Maybe change a few details in the numbers and we could ask Dan to put it into the game at some point. ![]() |

Reach wrote: asteroids can break apart and you may have to avoid some peices and if they hit you they could do damage. Couldn’t that be a special ability for the asteroid, eg: meteorite shard strike-does additional damage to player's ship? rather than constantly beeing pelted with asteriod fragments. great idea tho!!! ![]() ![]() |

So like these astroids one for each mineral here are some of the rarities Dynite Astroid - Common Chrisium Astroid - Common Darrinyte Astroid - Common Hydium Astroid - Uncommon Erixion Astroid - Uncommon Pawlcite Astroid - Uncommon Dieterion Astroid - Rare Dysilion Astroid - Rare Kurinite Astroid - Rare Aidonuim Astroid - Extremely Rare Depending on their discryption of the mineral like Dullness , Luster, Ruff and Smooth it may reflect (more defense) or have bigger shards (more attack). And some may be different sizes. Of course i think this should come after Bases and the Planet Trade System mentioned on a topic i recall. I mean thats fair, just this morning (idk the chances) I got an Extremely Rare Rouge Experimenter so these sound reasonable |
