When I was much lower ranking and didn't quite understand how the the game worked I ended up selling off quite a bit in mission rewards to make room on my ship for other options.
I have no system but it would be nice if in some way things that we may have lost could be returned, at a price, maybe some kind of junkyard mission or something.
At a point your ships mission gear has more of an impact then researched gear, and I would hate to have that kinda disadvantage for my entire game life.
Just a though I would like to assume there are more people out there who make some silly choices back in the day and would like a second shot.

If you sell a mission based module, message Dan, the developer, through the in game contact feature at the bottom of the game page and requet which modules you'd like back. He'll fix it for you.

Assuming you've actually completed the mission, yes, he'll give you back the mission modules.

my friend did this, dan didn't give back the mission rewards, but he did reset the mission for them

Hmm. I've had Dan replace modules in the past.

well, i wouldnt want to re-do the mission by all means. isnt the exotic pulser a mission mod???

I suggested a while ago for a Retrieval Portal added to the GP list.
It would automatically reward you with 1 special module or building of your choice that you previously scrapped.
