Wow, that is a poor title but I don't know how else to express this.
Galaxy Legion's legions are supposed to be a coalition of Races however, when you look, this isn't what happens. You have a bunch of Inergons, Konqul, Vygoid with a smattering of Sillixx, Drannik, Taltherian. The reason for this is that for most people, the bonuses you get from other races just aren't worth it. Why be a Zolazin and get some cloak when you get be a Inergon and get more energy? Why be a Genetarr and help your legion when we can be Konqul and help yourself?
A lot of the races have great abilities but because they don't help the person using them they don't get picked. A great example is the Genetarr, how many of them do you see? In high level legions, how many Saboteurs do you see?
A 'perfect' legion, on my mind, will include:
2-3 Zolazin Saboteurs: support for planetary assaults
1-2 Genetarr: support for legion NPC battles
2-3 Mylarai: Enrich the legion's planets
2-3 Taltherian: Urbanize the legion's planets
But save Taltherian (and maybe a few Mylarai), who wants to be these? Their positives don't make up for their negatives.
I would make the following suggestions:- Expand Enrich and Urbanize so that it can be used on friendly shared and non-colonized planets once every twenty days (separate timer from the regular ability). This would allow the Mylarai/Taltherian players to support the Genetarr and Zolazin who are supporting the legion.
- Add a weak bonus to entice people to be unchosen races. Zolazin could be a "Cloak ability" that double a single specific planet's planetary cloak for 1 week (with a week cool down).
- NFX-2 Virus Source is a great addition but by the time you unlock it, odds are you don't need it. To me, it would make more sense to a weaker version of this as a sub ability for one of the non-chosen races.
We should strive to have legions of different races but for the most part, many of them just aren't worth it.
