 Why not let us blow up planets?

I thought I posted this yesterday but when I checked for replies I couldn't find the thread.

I have dozens of small, sparse, useless planets. Why not let us blow them up? It would cost us money (NOT GP POINTS) but we get rid of a useless planet.

In exchange for the money and energy expenditure we receive a portion of what the planet resources were worth, say 1 weeks worth of minerals/artifacts/research.

I could see this as an artifact one that is fairly rare. Ya it clears are chart, but it also removes tfrom the game that the planet is in the game.

there is an artifact now that will remove it from your scan. if you remove it from the game, the game will just create another crappy planet to take its place :P

if every 30k player was blasting all their bad planets, There would surely be only good planets around ... And thus we would find your good planets pretty fast. AND TAKE THEM :D

muahaha.


Let the bad planets be here, they are your best protection against critical hack and enemy scanning.

you realize the # of planets goes up as the # of people increases in the game. This allows for a constant amount of unclaimed planets to always be there as the game gets popular. Therefore if the # of planets go down due to "blowing them up" the game will only create more planets to make up for it and keep that constant. And I would also assume that there is a fixed percentage of awesome vs great vs good vs average vs crappy planets kept in the game as well. Therefore, you destroy a crappy planet, game creates a crappy planet to make up for it and keep the constant and percentage at the same rates the game requires. So the current way of removing planets from your scan list is still the best bet.

true, and there is the unfotunate loop-hole to blowing up planets: "I steal your dyson knowing full well you will take it back, but I will blow it up first!"

I realize pretty well, the current ratio is 10 planets/ MAU in the galaxy

31k MAUs => 310k planets ... Hence the figure 10 I used in my first comment ;)

It would be easy to set it so you could not blow up planets that have average or higher rating.

no. the moon idea was better. this is an interesting idea, but was from so long ago, that 30k was alot of credits. search "a use for all those tiny crappy planets you hate" i liked that planet demo idea better.
