I have been through a dozen small legions in the past few days and they have all screwed their bases up in one way or another. The biggest and most common screw up is in how they allocated resource points.

In the beginning it wasn't clear how points would work or how rare they would be. I am seeing lots of bases that have crappy numbers because everyone was in such a rush the day bases came out and no one understood what they were doing.

I think you REALLY need to add a one time reset button for the base production. Now that they know what they are doing, let them reset their base accordingly.

+1 cause I am all for second chances... but what is there really to screw up? Either you wanted more minerals or you wanted more artifacts or you wanted more research. If you are a legion leader with any kind of basic rank {40+} and /or playing time {month+} then it really should not have been that hard to figure out.

From talking to a lot of the players they believed you would be able to find artifacts that would increase your base just like you can a planet.

They also thought that the base would require consistent points (the same amount) every level instead of exponential amounts (increasing) of points every level.

I say add a reset button or allow artifacts like the planet data optimizer to work on bases too, maybe even terraformers or create a terraformer for base use only

I still like my base terraformer idea, but how about Dan just resets it for everyone when base combat comes out? it will be an easy fix, those who didn't mess up can easily just put them back

call it a Genesis device, or leave that name for something else that more suits the name (like startrek the motion pictures Genesis device)

make it a CT lab artifact. if dan adds my 'micro terraformer' idea which would allow people to increase either mining, artifact, or research by one, then it could take

5 Mining Micro Mesh
5 Artifact Micro Mesh
5 Research Micro Mesh

adds 3 resource allocation to the base or for existing artifacts

15 rescued prisoners
5 mylarai build extractors
50 warp gates

gives 3 resource points to the base.

no more than 30 warp gates - keep it obtainable for the lower ranks(medium 2-300s at that point)

i must admit its pushing it but this idea is not a one man choice ... you most likely need the legions agreement ... and so the legion should chip in imo

I think 50 Warp Gates will be easier to save than 15 Rescued Prisoners...

those were just suggested numbers. obviously this is supposed to be VERY hard to get, as its like manufacturing a terraformer for the base. but its the components that matter more than anything else. as always, dan has the final say. :P

the reason i chose 15 rescued prisoners: this is a very valuable artifact, and it should be a sacrifice for someone who wants to manufacture it. is a terraformer worth 45 rank points to you? for some people, yes, others, hell no. this will be easier to obtain by some more than others (especially higher ranks) but its supposed to be so we dont have 20-30 resource points added daily to the base.

The reason i chose 5 mylarai building extractors: an npc that is semi-rare. this is going to be the time limiting cap on the production of these base terraformers. players (especially those with 20k artifact production) may recieve 15 rescued prisoners in a day or two. however, these building extractors show up maybe once or twice a week. this will limit the production of these base terraformers to the point of extreme rarity, so that players may increase their bases permanent resource count maybe once a month.

and the reason i chose the 50 warp gates: theyre the building that produces all resources on a planet. seemed logical to me, as most of the good artifacts require buildings to make.

can not a legion reset the base by disbanding and reforming with a slight change to their name?
If they reset their base they lose everything they put into it right? Or do they get it refunded.

Dan mentioned there will be a way to reset production points in response to a question....so they will be able to correct there mistakes.
