I guess i should just throw this out there since I couldn't find anyone else post anything about it. Could we possibly see more ships like different designs of the races ship when it goes from like a scout ship to the next type. Just add things onto the originals or make them look somewhat different yet still have the same quality as the first ship since every races ship is different and their are things that make them look unique from each other. I understand this would take a while being somewhat of an artist. But if you could look into it and have them come out for something big like Christmas or new years it would be an awesome new addition. |

Actually, there are no threads on the art but there have been posts suggesting it. I would like ship customization, like as you rank you can put more parts on your ship based on the basic "template" lets say, they have right now. So if you reach rank 50 and your a vygoid maybe you can add a Warp drive attached to the flat top of the ship or 2 on each side, or based on research maybe so if you research plasma cannons you can add a big plasma cannon to the back of your ship or two on the sides or wherever you want it.( I know this will be hard to implement but Dan is the final person to decide if its worth it or not) |

I would definitely LOVE to... and it wouldn't be too hard - but good artists are hard to come by... so it takes time. If anyone knows some talented individuals who would like some temporary work, send them along ![]() |

I dont know any, but who designed the first images? And are you thinking of doing a system where it changes whenever your ship goes from lets say light cruiser to cruiser or where you can gain parts as you get acheivments or something that you can place on top of a basic template or a combination of both? |

A well trained eye could tell what a partially-cloaked ship has on it's outside. |

How bout to counter what Zopha suggested, how bout a cloaked ship's image has the image distorted based on how much high his cloak is then yur scan, if it is so high you only know how large the ship is, make it completly unrecognizable or blacked out. |

I suggest start with something simple: each class of ship(scout, frigate, etc.) looks different in general, after that's in then we can really think about making it custom. On the weapon customization you could use layers on the images but it would take time and it might not look as odd as just trying to dump another image on top of the ship in a certain position (like the shield )and hope for the best. layer 0 (background) - ship layer 1 - hull plating (more like a new skin changes ship color or texture) layer 2 - Cloaking device (perhaps the attachment or object floating around the ship) layer 3 - Shield emitter layer 4 - Weapons (only shows most powerful, 1 shown) layer 6 - Defenses (Engines) layer 7 - Scanner Antenna etc, etc. ... it probably becomes cookie cutter after that. This method might also allow this... but if you can't "see" the ship you at can at least always see the base model... of course this would also mean multiple images per ship for each phase of cloaking. |

Or just a little program that takes your cloak does a bit of math with it determines a % and turns that % into distorted pixels. |

Making the picture fully customizable would not only take a lot of development time, but will also take up huge internet streaming capacity, taking a considerable amount of time while it loads on your browser. I suggest making the customization limited to a base ship and a template, that the game automatically fills in based on the modules you have. |

I suggest making the customization limited to a base ship and a template, that the game automatically fills in based on the modules you have. what I was suggesting was making the images beforehand, yes i know it takes time, but it only loads 1 image for your ship not one for each module... its sorta easy to layer images in Photoshop or similar programs, but its not a cake walk. probably the easiest things to display would be hull plating and your strongest weapon. It would require someone to make a ship design for each combination of modules that could be shown easily. if you don't want to load a large picture with 10 different layers merge the layers in your photo editor to one layer to reduce memory usage. Just a test i did with the layers merged them into 1. the Inergon ship has some form of hull plating(ship color, could try a texture next), a heavy ion cannon, and the Zolazin Jammer. took about 6-8 min to tweek using images from in game and Photoshop. ![]() |

Utlilize your community. Maybe offer an award if some talented artists could come up with some good shizz? Furthermore, look to other games for inspiration ![]() The graphics package can always be updated in any game, hell, World War on iPhone recently updated and looks alotttttttttt sweeter. In this game i think the ship graphics would be key to it. Personally.. and no offense here.. but i think the graphics are crap. I know, i know, i'm a graphics whore (we're in the 21st Century and i play a hell of a lot of red dead redemption). Now i know this ain't exactly the developers fault.. but it's something simple that can be improved. It's not urgent .. other more important things are there to do.. but this game.. i think with a graphics overhaul would be the tits in terms of the genre it is categorized in ![]() I already love it, graphics aside xD |

That is a perfect example of a cloak. It would look even better with the space background. |

You can still tell there is a Zolazin Jammer there, but its a good cloak example, tho I was thinking of distortion, not coloration |
