Please bring them back, make them like the Voriger Scan Data reveal a DECENT planet but not a Dyson or something. Lots of us never got to use them or miss them. Please bring them back! |

lol considering they were so common that high rankers could use those instead of scanning, im glad theyre gone. it was REALLY unfair. |

yeah, this would be cool as a drop from a 'new' npc in the daily reward. especially if it found a decent unoccupied planet. |

or it can join the same stats as the 60 cargo artifact ... make them a little more rare and i suppose that would be rare enough so bigger players dnt spam them right? |

The problem with the alien star charts is that they were just a planet scan. they produced about as much garbage as a regular scan. I for one am glad they are gone - a waste of AP in my opinion. |

How about a limit on how much you can use? Such as: Star Charts: Reveals a random planet into your database. Cost: ?AP Energy Cost: 100 Limit: 3 uses per 24 hours Though a +1 for me because I never got to use them either. But a -1 because there will be many complaints of getting crappy planets. That's why Dan removed them from the game. So where I stand, I'm just neutral.

total thread necro, i know. while updating the planets page on the wiki, i ran across the alien star charts reference, and determined that they were nerfed out of artifact points shipments on 21nov2010, almost a year before i started playing. i'm thinking that if this were added to the daily reward pool, that it would no longer be overpowered compared to when it was offered in artifact points shipments. i haven't used a tri.matrix or energy cube in years now, so was just looking to spice things up a bit on the daily reward front  benefits are that the artifact already exists so Dan only has to code it for the daily reward instead of the artifact points shipment (and i get the fun of trying to explain its history on the wiki). can anyone think of any negatives ? yes, you may only find a crappy planet .. but given the amount of kvetching i hear in legion about crappy scan runs .. an occasional chance at finding a planet not based on your scan power sounds pretty kewl. it would open up my maxed cloaked planets to being scanned, but i probe them weekly as it is. |
