with more and more buildings being discovered through the CT lab, and with the introduction of mylarai extractors, i was thinking it would be cool if we could reverse engineer the artifacts back to their base components. i would gladly take a planet with the new CT storehouse on it, regardless of stats just so i could gain the 1400 cargo (which is over half of what i have right now). |

An interesting idea. One problem I see arising is lower level players massing an attack on a well guarded planet and destroying the hard work someone put into building it regardless of their ability to retake the planet. |

At that point who ever lost the planet might as well lost the artifact, all it takes is an extractor. |

exactly. dont put artifacts youre willing to lose on planets without defense. plus, if you put up 2 domain walkers then you have 2400 planetary defense, add in 2 more resonance inhibitors, and you have 3000+ defense. with a 100% legion bonus thats 6k defense from special structures that cant be destroyed by saboteurs, and in order to get close to 90% on invasion probability youd need 12000 attack. plus i think if you even put one barrier or thetacron field on the planet then it cant be taken by anyone under rank 150... (the reason i used domain walkers and resonance inhibitors as an example is because chances are if you have the new planetary space buildings discovered, then you most likely have domain walkers and resonance inhibitors discovered aswell...) |

Yes, but that doesn't make the point of being able to get the original artifacts back from something. I think that if you could it should require energy and the CT Lab. |

what if instead you got a small % chance of adding the building to your CT lab list instead? That's what i think of as reverse engineering anyway |

that could be a side bonus in addition to gaining all the artifacts that were used in its construction. but it would have to be a very small percentage. |
