I personally believe that what shows on the first page in the forum should be what has been posted in most recently. I once made a topic about more uses for badges, in 4 days it was on the 3rd or 4th page and no one saw it again. Since then I have seen 6 or 7 threads about expanding the battle market. If it was based of posts, the "hot" topics that everyone pays attention too would be at the front, and those that are ignored slide into oblivion. |

you might want to try selling that particular suggestion to the PHPBB development team (http://www.phpbb.com)... assuming a mod hasn't already been written to do what you've asked |

Well deal with it it happens to all of us. If you need to "change" your topic a little and post what youve changed about it it will bump it without breaking rules. Plus if people dont like your topic then they dont have to post there |

Plus if people dont like your topic then they dont have to post there I am not complaining about the fact that people don't post, I am complaining that Topic that people post in regularly just get sent to the back. It seems that it should be based on the last post instead of the creation time, because long threads get pushed back in pages and they become hard to find. it is not just my threads, but discussions i am reading, and i lose track of where they are. |

one recent post on an old thread already pops it to the front, regardless of how long or short the thread is so.... now i'm not understanding the issue you're having |

actually..................... here ya go... just took a look in the control panel.... ucp.php?i=prefs&mode=view Display topics ordering by: (choose one) Author (alphabetical on author's handle) Post Time (time of last post) Replies (# of replies in that thread) Subject (alphabetical on subject line) Views (# of views on that thread) Display topic order direction: ascending (alphabetical goes A-Z, numerical goes 0 to infinity) descending (alphabetical goes Z-A, numerical goes infinity to 0) Does this cover what you were wanting? |
