It seems to be the general consensus that the leader boards really dont mean all that much in the grand scheme of things. How about if we make it a little more competitive as far as the legion ranking is concerned. No need for a major overhaul, just this: What if disabled ships did not contribute to the overall strength and ranking of the legion. This would cause the values to fluctuate depending on activity. I think that might be fun to keep track of. Say if DOO 2 (currently #10) wanted to hit NI (currently #2) for whatever reason. Suppose that within an hour there are multiple disables and 10 of the members have yet to repair. That would significantly drop NI out of the number 2 spot temporarily. Depending on other activity in the galaxy DOO2 might then be elevated to a higher ranking. The scenarios are endless and I think this would more accurately portray legion standings. Sure if everyone in every legion were repaired then the standings would be as they are now but that is never the case. Throughout the course of the day many ships in every legion get hit. At least than when a war is declared between two legions (or more) everyone could see for themselves how well it is going. It would kind of add a little spice to really being #1, 2, 3 or whatever, more like a king of the hill statistic. Those legions that really dont bother with pvp wouldnt care about these standings so I dont think they would care if this got changed. Dan could even make a category of (actual strength/ theoretical strength) * 100 to show how each legion differs. Note: No members of DOO2 or NI were harmed in the making of this post. |

maybe this would be fun as another different leaderboard, but I like the strength and rank ones the way they are (and yes, my legion is on the leaderboard, but I am not bias) |

Personally, I think this is kinda pointless. The rankings would change depending on who is asleep or working and which legion is farming the crap out of another's lower levels... Not really a good indicator of who is actually stronger. |

How about a leaderboard that shows the total rank and or ship strength worth or their kills that reset every week. AKA Every time you kill someone rank 50 your legion gets 50 points (or what I would prefer) every time you kill someone with 5K Ship Strength your legion would get 5K points. While im pretty sure it wouldnt be worth it to farm lowbies in the rank board its a possible side effect. The Ship Strength board would accurately measure how powerful the ass your killing is though and im sure it would encourage ppl to pwn more pwerful people rather then less powerful. Also, arts used could be used to negate the worth of a kill, i.e. using -10% Attack arts would reduce the amount of points you get by 3%(just a filler #). If either of these were put up id also like to see the average SS and rank of each opponent disabled. |

It may need some tweeking, but yes, I agree with this idea too. Other folks have suggested some variation on the "aquiring points" idea. It might be fun to see who got the most points from week to week. |
