From the start of GL there is alot of ways to customize your ships etc, and as you rank up and get more decks you can add more and more, but there comes a point when eventually your ship isnt customized but the norm. Once you hit a certain rank and deck space, your ships modules are the same as everyone else and the only thing that seprates you is your name, legion and race/profession, but seeing as the latter can be changed that dosnt count for much. So what i suggest is "Added Customization Via 1 Time Specialization" Which would involved a Specialization tree, with multipy branchs, and you can only pick one, period, no changing, 1 Specialization to stick with your whole GL life. And each branch would branch out more, further increasing more customization. Like for example one branch could be like.. ............................................................................................../ Critical Damage increased by 25% .............................................../ Increased Critcal hits +10% - Critical hit rate +20% ................................................................................./ 1.25x dmg vs npcs, ignores npcs damage cap Attack: Increased attack 10% - Increased attack 20% - Increased attack 35% ................................................................................ \ Deals 1.25x more damage against a ships class, raises there damage thresshold .............................................. \ Shield Damage, +1.25x more dmg on shields - +1.5x more dmg on shields .......................................................................................................................\ Shield Penetration, 20% of dmg inflicted directly on hull Sorry if thats slightly messy lol was abit harder to do on forum then expected, But yeah that would be a small example of the attack specialization, as you can see it keeps splitting into more specializations, raw damage, crit damage, shield damage etc. Further branchs could include berserk damage - damaging yourself but further increasing damage, or the ability to have a chance at breaking a module of another player. There would be Specializations for defence, hull, shield, scan, cloak. All with branchs making them more diverse and unique, depending on how big/long the trees got I was thinking that every 50 ranks or so would grant 1 specialization point to put into a tree, the first point would pick the tree you want then forever lock the others. |
