so, i was reading a sarcastic response in the pub, and it gave me an idea. For the last few months people have been begging dan for a visual customization of their ship avatar. Unfortunately, this has not been implemented. I understand dan buys the ships from stock websites, but perhaps in the future when the game is successful enough and he can afford to hire people to make unique ship art he'll consider adding it in. Anyway, this is a suggestion for the eventual time he will add it in. what if every planet that had artifact production gave the player a chance to uncover new avatar piece debris. When you collect your daily reward it would do a run of all the planets, and you have a chance to uncover a new piece. The higher the artifact output the better the chances are of finding something, and the higher the output the rarer it can be. like, if you have 10 abundant artifact planets, your chances will be decent of finding a piece, but a 'common' debris piece. however, if you have a 28x megarich dyson, then your chances will be pretty good of finding a piece, and having that piece be rarer. These pieces can either be used as 1) Ship avatar component. once you get one you use it like a blueprint, and you have it forever. 2) Planet building. Specific pieces may produce production on planets 3) Scrap for complex tech. even if you only get one piece a day, it still wont take very long to collect all of em. so why not scrap em for complex tech. we need it for the base anyway. sadly, at this time we cannot customize our ship avatars. but hopefully someday in the future dan will let us do this, and implement all the suggestions on visuals to include thusfar. |

+1, perhaps overly complex, but the general idea of more customisation would be good indeed. |

My train of thought1) Wow, wouldnt it be cool if planets made art? 2) Maybe they could make sigs! thatd be cool to have an in game sig designer we could display in our comm tab 3) No, that wouldnt work. itd be fun but probably take up too much server space. Well, what could be found on the planets 4) Ship debris is found on planets! what if we could scan the planet for ship debris once a day, and that tells us if we find anything 5) That would be too much work. It would be much easier to just click the daily reward and have it autoscan all your planets and then after that i came up with the actual idea i posted. I still would like custom emblems like in the new call of duty that we could post in our comm area, or have displayed on our ship somehow, but i realize that would take way to much server space and would be pointless to suggest. |
