i have seen a couple of suggestions in the suggestions and idea thread about artifact priority and i would like to see it
this is how I see it:
basically you can choose one artifact that is your priority, the artifact has to be from artifact shipments. You have a better chance of getting that one artifact (lets just say 10%)

so if you set star chart purgers as your priority you are 10% more likely to get them from shipments

what does everyone think

I do like this idea a lot. Who knows dan could also add some that the only real way past them being very rare is threw the priority thing.

*facepalms* no, just no, I like setting an artifact I need or want as a priority but, imagine setting MSP (mass storage pods) as a priority and think of how many of those you'll get?

I don't currently get a huge amount of Artifacts, but I see this as a helpful tool for people who just need 'X' artifact. Has my vote.

MSP are already common enough who cares i someone wants to put there priority on them they are bassically srcewing themselves for doing that. They really aent that usefull. Make your cargo big, SO who cares, youre screwing yourself. Why do you think the Polychoron Vault was made, to get rid of MSP cluttering your cargo

This could be good or this could be really bad...

Low levels will enjoy it more but higher levels with a lot of artifact production will really be the ones benefiting from this

Maybe make the percentage of chance based on your artifact production? But, there has to be a max of 10% chance or something.

Or, make it so you can't get the buffing artifacts (rescued prisoners, ship bots, etc..) and artifacts such as time manipulators and null fuses

Considering how one would discover artifacts I have to say no. However the idea that a player can find so many of these artifacts yet still rely on only finding them or the advanced parts to produce them instead of being able to make them is a little absurd.

I feel like the drops should remain random, however with each discovery an artifact you gain some level of understanding or research into artifacts.
This would work the same as artifacts do now, only if you find something that is for instance 400 artifact points you would only get say 20 artifact research points (5%). When it gets high enough you can use artifact research and it will randomly give you blue prints to an artifact.

Each artifact would have different mineral, credit and perhaps drop or tech part requirements to build.

For instance I see a lot of talk about planet purgers. Something like 50 million credits +1 Aidonium +10 Kruinite and +1000 exotic matter to build 1 with a delay of 20 minutes (time it would take to construct the artifact)
That is of course if you DISCOVERED the blue prints.
In addition each purchase would raise the cost by 100% while its price would reduce by 100% base cost every day you didnt make one.
IE 50 million > 100 million > 200 million (stop making them) > 150 million > 100 million > 50 million.

That is still random. Sure some items have a higher % of being found but that doesnt mean they always will. It is a matter of luck.
if something drops at 50% and another drops at 5% and i click 100 times, normally that would be 50 of one item and 5 of the other (and 45% of some third thing) but chance lies that it could also give me 100 of the thing at 5% even though the chances of that happening are astronomically low.
